Flame Monkey: My entry to "Splinterlands Art Contest Week 275!

Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa.!

Great to be with you again, to show my version of Flame Monkey. The truth is I am very happy with the result, consider that on this occasion I stuck more to my style and way of drawing, so the work and the process was a quite satisfactory process.

My entry this week in the Splinterlands Art Contest is inspired by a card called Flame Monkey. I wanted to make it in a different version, but maintaining two important details from the original art, such as the fire and the monkey. And if it were otherwise, the name of the letter would be obsolete (🤣 excuse my bad jokes).

Although I felt much more comfortable making the drawing, I think that due to my inexperience in digital art it took me a long time in the process. It took me a little more than 6 hours divided into several sessions or parts. One of the things that was most difficult for me to do or at least achieve something satisfactory, was my hair. I don't have any experience in it and I couldn't get a suitable brush, until I got the "Flat Brush", it gave me an acceptable finish playing with opacity and thickness.

About my Version of Flame Monkey:

For the drawing process, I have used my tablet, digitizer pen and Medibang Paint as a drawing program. The character was undoubtedly inspired by the playing card, but he wanted to develop a "mage" type version, which would reflect fire-dominant and bold. For the drawing process I initially made a quick sketch to help me visualize the main shapes I wanted to develop. Then I outlined it, with a strong pencil. I cleaned up the outline a little and moved on to the base coloring stage. Next, the shadow stage to give more depth to the character. For this stage I have used airbrush, brush and blur.

Sketch, outlining and line cleaning:

I am very satisfied, I consider that despite perhaps not being a perfect digital art, I was able to achieve a good result that I was happy with. Participating in these types of contests allows me to learn, practice and take on new challenges.
