Have you ever been in a situation where you're lacking power but don't know what card to rent? Are you just blindly renting the cheapest ones in order to achieve your goal?

Don't fret my friend. I am here to help you with that.Renting power is an art. The cheapest doesn't always mean it's the most efficient. But don't worry. After you read this Power Chart Tutorial, you would be a master of getting power for your goals.

Why is Collection Power Important?

Before learning how to compute the card power, we must first learn why it is important. Collection Power or simply, Power, is a requirement to increase your league ranking.

Each league requires a minimum collection power and rating. Rating can be obtained from winning games while collection power can be obtained from renting and/or purchasing cards. As long as the card is in your possession, you have the power of the card. If you rent out your card, the power is decreased from your total collection power.

Factors

There are 4 factors of affecting the card's power.

  1. Edition
  2. Foil Type
  3. Rarity
  4. Card Level

Edition:

Alpha - 1st installment of Splinterlands. Normally recognized with a small artwork in the middle. Provides 10% additional bonus DEC per win.
Beta - 2nd installment of Splintelands. Can be recognized with a ribbon-like place holder for the name of the card.
Promo - This can both be Alpha and/or Beta Editions. The cards in promo edition have the same power as Alpha/Beta but the cards can only be obtained from promotional events and not in the Packs itself.
Rewards - This can be Beta, Dice, Untamed or Chaos Legion Edition. It has the same idea of Promo cards and you may get the cards from loot boxes or packs.
Untamed / Dice - Can be recognized by a lightning-y back drop on the effects.
Chaos - This is the latest installment in Splinterlands that can be recognized via the blank slot under the name. When I see this up close, I always remember vending machines for some reason.
Gladius - These are special cards that can only be played in Brawl, a different type of game style between guilds. It's recognizable by a metallic-like look.

Foil Type:

Non-Foil: Cheaper type and provide less power. This is normally used to complete your build once you have the power you need.

Gold Foil: More expensive type but have more power. Renting gold cards for power is the most efficient. Also, provides 10% additional bonus DEC per win.

Rarity

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary

These four should be self explanatory.

Power Chart 3.PNG

These are the rarity of the cards. I normally say emblem instead of rarity because the middle part looks like an emblem.
The emblem also shows what region or element the card is from. An example is the eye one is from Dragon Region. The color of the rarity does not change.

Card Level

If you check a card, under the stats, you can see how many cards are used to level up a card. Each card produces power. For example, a level 2 common card requires 5 cards to level up. Renting a level 2 common card provides 5x of power.

This is the Power Chart or a cheat sheet that we use to know the power of the cards. Alpha Edition provides the highest power as they have the least supply. Chaos Legions are the newest and provides the least power.
