Splinterlands Art Contest | Daughter of the moon🌙 Sola Ranjell

Greetings hive friends, hope you're doing really well. It's another splinterlands fanart and this is the first time I'll be drawing Sola Ranjell. I really love the colours on this card, how her hair flows and the glow around her staff.

Original Character

PROCESS

I decided to do a familiar pose, once I was done with the sketch which is usually the first thing, I began to add base colours to her skin. For the entire work, I didn't use some of the colours in the original character. I also painted her clothes, hair and staff with a simple round brush. I struggled a bit with her clothing because it didnt look exactly how I wanted it to but I eventually figured it out...

Moving on to the details, I started by painting shadows on her staff, I painted her horn and other jewellery and added details to them right away because I didn't want to come back to them. I added darker shadows to her hair and more brighter strands at the top. I also painted more colours on her clothes and blended them out. Painting her skin was really interesting, I didn't blend much since I just selected an area, applied colours with an airbrush and erased any thick lines I noticed. I painted her gloves, defined the fingers and blended out the colours. Adding yellow to the tip of her clothing was something I did last minute and ended up liking it....

With her powers as the daughter of the moon, I painted the moon behind her as she harnessed more powers and synced with it. The movement between her staff and moon produced little lightning and the moved back and forth. I don't paint moon all the time but I love how this one looks even though I know I have to practice more to get what i want. I added some shine on different parts of her body and painted some little clouds on the background...
