Splinterlands Weekly Challenge – Carrion Shade

The strategy

This battle was quite interesting. Mid-mana, Equal Opportunity and Close Range rule sets. Probably my opponent would use archers and the Shieldbearer. So I needed to think on how to counter that. Some magic attacks and a few buffers to soak damage will do the trick.

Esta pelea fue bastante interesante. Medio maná, con reglas de Equal Opportunity y Close Range. Probablemente mi oponente usaría arqueros y el Shieldbearer. Por lo que tendría que pensar como contrarrestarlo. Algunos ataques mágicos y algunos buffers para absorver daño lo lograrían.

The battle

The opponent used Shieldbearer, however not so many archers. Which was quite good. Fortunately, the buffers worked to avoid a first attack on my Weirding Warrior, so it could shatter the armor, speeding up the rhythm of the battle.

For round two there were no more buffers (including the Weirding Warrior maybe?). The Carrion Shade achieved its purpose, lasting a couple of attacks. This helped to increase a lot the life of my Riftwing and could waltz with the Stitch Leech. The thorns of the Windeku finished with the Shieldbearer and it was just a matter of time for a camouflaged Magi Necrosi to get rid of everything up to round 6.

Efectivamente utilizó al Shieldbearer, pero no muchos arqueros más. Lo cual fue bastante bueno. Afortunadamente los rellenos funcionaron para evitar que atacaran a mi Weirding Warrior, y que pudiera destruir su armadura, acelerando el ritmo de la batalla.
Para la segunda ronda ya no había más rellenos (contando también al Weirding Warrior quizá). El Carrion Shade cumplió su propósito durando un par de ataques. Esto ayudó a que mi Riftwing subiera mucho de vida y pudiera entretener al Stitch Leech. Las espinas del Windeku se encargaron de terminar con el Shieldbearer y por lo demás fue cuestión de tiempo para que el Magi Necrosi camuflajeado acabara con los demás en la ronda 6.

The thoughts

The sum of cannon fodder for the Riftwing life was the turning point of this battle. That's what I like a lot of the Death splinter, it has got some good low mana cards that are useful on several rule sets. Added with two magical damages per turn, it was a quite good strategy to use.

La suma de la carne de cañón para la vida del Riftwing fue el factor decisivo de esta batalla. Esto es lo que me gusta muho del splinter de Muerte, tiene algunas cartas de bajo mana que son muy útiles en diferentes sets de reglas. Además de dos daños mágicos por turno, fue una muy buena estrategia a utilizar.
