In the coming months there will be lots of exciting news in the Splinterverse as announced in the Splinterlands Town Square October 2nd, 2023!

I like many points in the Key points list in the screenshot above!

I also very much liked the change of focus from short-term to long-term announced by @yabapmatt in this post.

In today's post, however, I want to focus the attention of you, dear reader and Splinterlands player, on an element that keeps Splinterlands still tied to the short term and that in my opinion is potentially highly devastating on the future prospects of Splinterlands: allowing the use of bots in the Wild Format!

If Splinterlands after 5 years since its creation and despite the long bear market is still one of the most popular and played blockchain-based games it is because:

• the Splinterlands team has done an excellent job and better than many other blockchain game projects of which many are no longer around or continue to exist out of inertia with few active players.
• The Splinterlands team has created an NFT-based strategy TCG game that is fun to play or at least is for me.
• Splinterlands has always had an organized and efficient structure that is "light years" away from many other blockchain projects that have much to learn from Splinterlands.
• Splinterlands has chosen a blockchain with a high level of decentralization, with lots of potential, and with a large and beautiful community: Hive!

No one is perfect and we can all make mistakes but in my opinion the biggest mistake Splinterlands made with short-term thinking in mind was allowing bots to be used for too long.

The introduction of anti-bots measures in the Modern Format (July 25, 2023) and the introduction of the banning of the use of any form of automation in Modern Format battles, tournaments, and Brawls (September 19, 2023) were two big and important steps in the right direction and especially were two important steps looking at the long term.

If changing the focus from the short term to the long term is a priority for Splinterlands then, in my opinion, bots should be completely eliminated from my favorite blockchain game and in this post I will show you how allowing bots in the Wild Format continues to have negative effects on real players who love playing Splinterlands like me and these negative effects will increase when the new Rebellion set will be released.

I started playing on Splinterlands in September 2019 when I had little HP in my Hive wallet and had little experience on Hive and blockchain projects in general.

From September 2019 to date I have played:

• 25554 battles in the Wild Format
• 2596 battles in the Modern Format

In more than 4 years of playing I have never used bots even though during the past Bull Run it would have benefited me so much financially.
I have never used bots because on Splinterlands:

• I have always enjoyed playing the in-game battles.
• I have always enjoyed buying and selling cards to increase the battle strength of my card collection.

My entertainment gradually declined as the bots increased.
Then my enjoyment increased when the anti-bots measures were introduced in Modern Format.
Even though I had strong cards that could be used in the Wild Format I immediately chose to play exclusively in the Modern Format soon after the anti-bots measures were introduced.

When the Untamed card set was released I always had a dream as a Splinterlands player: the Byzantine Kitty summoner.

In my opinion Byzantine Kitty is the strongest summoner because she is the most versatile because she has three very useful abilities and has two abilities (+2 speed and True strike) that affect all the cards she summons.

When Byzantine Kitty was released in the game I did not have the cash to buy her but thanks to the Bid offers I made on Peakmonsters, 9 months ago I bought the last two BCXs I needed to get my Byzantine Kitty to level 3.

In nine months I have used Byzantine Kitty a lot in my battles and my win rate has improved from the first day of use.

When the new Rebellion set will be released Byzantine Kitty, being an Untamed card, can no longer be used in the Modern Format which is the only Format where bots are not allowed.

I've always liked the idea of reserving Modern Format only for the latest edition cards to facilitate and incentivize new players but there is a big problem: in the wild format there are bots and battle Helpers!

Why should a real player who likes to play Splinterlands and doesn't like bots be forced to play against bots in the Wild format if he wants to use Byzantine Kitty or any other card from the Untamed edition?

Why should a real player be forced to sell or rent his Untamed cards if he does not want to play against bots?

In any web 2.0 or web 3.0 game the real players are the pillars of the game!

Bot-farms can use all cards of all editions even if they devote 0 time to the game.
Those who love Splinterlands and like to spend their time playing and want to play only with real players cannot use all cards from all editions.

Is this a logical and fair choice for a game that has gameplay as beautiful as Splinterlands?
Is this a choice focused on the long term in a Player Vs Player game?

I think not!

When the Rebellion set will be released I will have only three options to use my favorite summoner card:

• transfer my untamed cards to an alt account and play in the Wild against bots
• use a bot for the first time and with rewards improve my usable deck in the Modern Format
• sell or rent Byzantine Kitty.

Bot-farms will be able to continue to use Byzantine Kitty exactly as they always have and can continue to sell Splinterlands assets earned without playing.

Obviously my opinion is opinable and is just the opinion of a gamer who loves Splinterlands and enjoys playing it but in my opinion as long as there are bots in my favorite blockchain game there will never be a complete focus on the long term because bots kill and have always killed any long term goal of any web 2.0 or web 3.0 game.

I love Splinterlands and hope that in the very near future bots will be completely eliminated otherwise real players will always be penalized compared to bots!

In my opinion the only alternative solution to the total elimination of bots is the creation of a third league just for bots and for those who want to play against bots.

Giving a real player the ability to play only against other real players and at the same time use all cards from all editions should be a priority and I very much hope it becomes one as soon as possible!

I continue to set growth goals on Splinterlands, hope that bots are eliminated completely from Splinterlands, continue to increase the battle strength of my card collection, and look forward with much excitement to the start of Phase 1.5 of lands and the fully playable versions of Genesis League Soccer and Soulkeep that will expand the Splinterlands ecosystem

HIVE ON and Splinterlands ON!

Addio Byzantine Kitty ma solo per i giocatori reali e il perchè i bots dovrebbero essere rimossi anche dal Wild Format prima del rilascio di Rebellion!

Nei prossimi mesi ci saranno tante novità interessanti nello Splinterverse come annunciato nello Splinterlands Town Square October 2nd, 2023!

Mi piacciono molti punti dell'elenco dei Key points nello screenshot precedente e penso che il focus e i nuovi obiettivi di lungo termine fissati dal team di Splinterlands sono degli ottimi obiettivi.

Ho inoltre valutato molto positivamente il cambio di focus dal breve termine al lungo termine annunciato da @yabapmatt in questo post.

Nel post di oggi voglio però focalizzare l'attenzione di te, caro lettore e giocatore di Splinterlands, su un elemento che tiene Splinterlands ancora legato al breve termine e che è potenzialmente altamente devastante sulle future prospettive di Splinterlands: consentire l'utilizzo dei bots nel Wild Format!

Se Splinterlands dopo 5 anni dalla sua nascita e nonostante il lungo bear market è ancora uno dei giochi basati su blockchain più famosi e giocati è perchè:

• il team di Splinterlands ha fatto un lavoro eccellente e migliore di tanti altri progetti di giochi blockchain di cui molti non ci sono più o continuano ad esistere per inerzia con pochi giocatori attivi.
• il team di Splinterlands ha creato un gioco TCG di strategia basato su NFT divertente da giocare o almeno lo è per me.
• Splinterlands ha sempre avuto una struttura organizzata ed efficiente che è "anni luce" distante da molti altri progetti blockchain che hanno molto da imparare da Splinterlands.
• Splinterlands ha scelto una blockchain con un livello di decentralizzazione alto, con tanto potenziale e con una grande e bella comunità: Hive!

Nessuno è perfetto e tutti noi possiamo fare errori ma secondo me l'errore più grande che ha fatto Splinterlands pensando al breve termine è stato consentire per troppo tempo l'utilizzo dei bots.

L'introduzione delle misure antibots nel Modern Format (25 luglio 2023) e l'introduzione del divieto di utilizzare qualsiasi forma di automazione nelle battaglie del Modern Format, dei tornei e delle Brawls (19 settembre 2023) sono stati due grandi e importanti passi nella giusta direzione e soprattutto sono stati due importanti passi in ottica di lungo periodo.

Se il cambio di focus dal breve periodo al lungo periodo è una priorità per Splinterlands allora, secondo me, i bots dovrebbero completamente essere eliminati dal mio gioco blockchain preferito e in questo post ti mostrerò come il consentire l'utilizzo dei bots nel Wild Format continua a produrre effetti negativi sui giocatori reali che amano giocare a Splinterlands come me e questi effetti negativi saranno maggiori quando il nuovo set Rebellion sarà rilasciato.

Ho iniziato a giocare su Splinterlands nel settembre del 2019 quando avevo pochi HP nel mio Hive wallet e avevo poca esperienza su Hive e nei progetti blockchain in generale.

Da settembre 2019 a oggi ho giocato:

• 25554 battaglie nel Wild Format
• 2596 battaglie nel Modern Format

In più di 4 anni di gioco non ho mai utilizzato bots anche se durante la passata Bull Run mi avrebbe portato tanti vantaggi dal punto di vista finanziario.
Non ho mai utilizzato bots perchè su Splinterlands:

• mi sono sempre divertito a giocare le battaglie di gioco
• mi sono sempre divertito ad acquistare e vendere carte per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte.

Nel tempo il mio divertimento è progressivamente diminuito con il progressivo aumento dei bots.
Poi il mio divertimento è aumentato quando sono state introdotte le misure anti-bots nel Modern Format.
Anche se avevo carte forti utilizzabili nel Wild Format ho immediatamente scelto di giocare esclusivamente nel Modern Format subito dopo l'introduzione delle misure anti-bots.

Quando è stato rilasciato il set di carte Untamed ho sempre avuto un sogno come giocatore di Splinterlands: l'evocatore Byzantine Kitty.

Secondo me Byzantine Kitty è l'evocatore più forte perchè è il più versatile perchè ha tre abilità molto utili e ha due abilità (+2 velocità e True strike) che influenzano tutte le carte da lei evocate.

Quando Byzantine Kitty è stata rilasciata nel gioco non avevo la liquidità per acquistarla ma grazie alle offerte Bid che ho effettuato su Peakmonsters, 9 mesi fa ho acquistato gli ultimi due BCX che mi servivano per far raggiungere alla mia Byzantine Kitty il livello 3.

Ho utlizzato molto Byzantine Kitty nelle mie battaglie e il mio win rate è da subito migliorato.

Quando il nuovo set Rebellion sarà rilasciato Byzantine Kitty essendo una carta Untamed non potrà essere più utilizzata nel Modern Format che è l'unico Formato in cui i bots non sono consentiti.

Mi è sempre piaciuta l'idea di riservare il Modern Format solo alle carte delle ultime edizioni per facilitare e incentivare i nuovi giocatori ma c'è un grande problema: nel wild format ci sono i bots e i battle Helpers!

Perchè un giocatore reale che ama giocare a Splinterlands e non ama i bots deve essere costretto a giocare contro i bots nel Wild format se vuole utilizzare Byzantine Kitty o qualsiasi altra carta dell'edizione Untamed?

Perchè un giocatore reale deve essere costretto a vendere o noleggiare le sue carte Untamed se non vuole giocare contro i bots?

In ogni gioco web 2.0 o web 3.0 sono i giocatori reali i pilastri del gioco!

Le bot-farms possono utilizzare tutte le carte di tutte le edizioni anche se dedicano tempo 0 al gioco.
Chi ama Splinterlands e ama impiegare il suo tempo per giocare e vuole giocare solo con giocatori reali non può utilizzare tutte le carte di tutte le edizioni.

E' questa una scelta logica e giusta per un gioco che ha un gameplay bello come Splinterlands?
E' questa una scelta focalizzata sul lungo periodo in un gioco Player Vs Player?

Quando il set Rebellion sarà rilasciato io avrò solo tre opzioni per utilizzare la mia carta evocatore preferita:

• trasferire le mie carte untamed ad un alt account e giocare nel Wild contro i bots
• utilizzare per la prima volta un bot e con le ricompense migliorare il mio deck utilizzabile nel Modern Format
• vendere o noleggiare Byzantine Kitty.

Le bot-farms potranno continuare ad usare Byzantine Kitty esattamente come hanno sempre fatto e potranno continuare a vendere gli assets di Splinterlands guadagnati senza giocare.

Ovviamente la mia opinione è opinabile ed è solo l'opinione di un giocatore che ama Splinterlands e si diverte a giocare ma secondo me fin quando ci saranno i bots nel mio gioco blockchain preferito non si potrà mai puntare completamente al lungo periodo perchè i bots uccidono e hanno sempre ucciso qualsiasi obiettivo di lungo periodo di qualsiasi gioco web 2.0 o web 3.0.

Amo Splinterlands e spero che in un futuro molto vicino i bots saranno completamente eliminati altrimenti i giocatori reali saranno sempre penalizzati rispetto ai bots!

Secondo me l'unica soluzione alternativa all'eliminazione totale dei bots è la creazione di una terza lega solo per i bots e per chi vuole giocare contro i bots.

Dare la possibilità ad un giocatore reale di giocare solo contro altri giocatori reali e allo stesso tempo di utilizzare tutte le carte di tutte le edizioni dovrebbe essere una priorità e spero tanto che lo diventi il prima possibile!

Io continuo a pormi obiettivi di crescita su Splinterlands, spero che i bots siano eliminati completamente da Splinterlands, continuo ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte e aspetto con molta eccitazione l'inizio della fase 1.5 delle lands e le versioni completamente giocabili di Genesis League Soccer e Soulkeep che espanderanno l'ecosistema di Splinterlands
