On April 9, 2023 at 18:00 GMT, the sale of DEC-B (DEC Batteries) will end.

On Discord and in comments to my previous posts I have often received the following questions:

What are DEC-B?
Why buy DEC-B?
How to buy DEC-Bs?

In today's post I will answer these three questions and show the use cases of DEC-B and also do some calculations to show the most cost-effective way to buy DEC-B.

What are DEC-B tokens?

The DEC Batteries (DEC-B) are the non-transferable and non-saleable version of the DEC tokens.

The DEC Batteries (DEC-B) are the non-transferable and non-saleable version of the DEC tokens.
Practically, DEC-B tokens are the Souldound version of DEC tokens, and like the Soulbound Reward Cards that can be used in the game but cannot be sold or transferred, DEC-B tokens can only be used as payment for special purchases or to participate in certain promotions in the Splinterlands Shop.

Why buy DEC-B tokens?

If DEC-B tokens cannot be transferred or sold why would a player buy them instead of using DEC tokens directly?

The answer to the previous question is simple: convenience!

DEC-B tokens have the same purchasing power of DEC tokens (in allowed cases of purchase) but cost 20% less.

This means that if DEC tokens and DEC-B tokens can be used for a purchase it is always preferable to use DEC-B tokens instead of DEC tokens.

How to purchase DEC-B tokens

DEC-B tokens can be purchased from the DEC section of the Dashboard of Splinterlands by clicking on Batteries in the box on the right as indicated by the numbered arrows in the image below.

You can use two payment methods to purchase DEC-B tokens:

• DEC: 1 DEC = 1.25 DEC-B
• VOUCHER: 1 VOUCHER = 200 DEC-B

Depending on the market value of VOUCHER tokens, it may be more convenient to use VOUCHER tokens instead of DEC tokens as a payment method to purchase DEC-B tokens.
For this reason, I always recommend that you make a preliminary assessment based on the market value of VOUCHER tokens before buying DEC-B tokens.

For example, today April 3, 2023:
1 DEC = 0.00203739 HIVE = $0.0008313
1 VOUCHER = 0.32497227 HIVE = $0.1325887

Based on the current market value (Lowest Ask) of DEC tokens and VOUCHER tokens buying DEC-B tokens with VOUCHER tokens instead of DEC tokens is cheaper even if the difference is small: -0.0000021$

The convenience of using VOUCHER tokens increases as their market value decreases.

Present and Future Use Cases

At the time of writing this post DEC-B tokens have only one use case: the purchase of energy points.

In a recent and previous post of mine, I shared some calculations and considerations on the purchase of energy points, which you can read by clicking on the following link.

Today I updated the calculations that I had shared in my previous post based on the current values of DEC tokens and VOUCHER tokens, and in the table below you can see that to purchase energy points the most convenient method of purchase is to use DEC-B tokens obtained by using VOUCHER tokens as the payment method.

More use cases will be added to the one use case present today with the start of phases 1.5 and 2 of Praetoria (the lands of Splinterlands).

In fact, from reading the Whitepaper of the Splinterlands lands (The Secret of Praetoria) it is possible to identify several future use cases for DEC-B tokens.

Lands Starter Packages and DEC-B

With the start of Lands Phase 1.5, it will be possible to purchase for a limited period of 60 days three types of Starter Packages:

• Building in a Box
• Time Vault
• Unstable Totem

Each Starter Package will have a purchase cost of 10000 DEC or 10000 DEC-B.

As you can see from the calculations in the table below buying Starter Packages using DEC-B tokens will be cheaper than using DEC tokens and will save up to almost $5 in the case of buying all three starter packages.

But the usefulness of the DEC-B tokens will not be limited to the discount obtainable for the purchase of the starter packages because the cards staked in the 5 jobs per land plot will also need Power Sources and again DEC-B tokens will be available for purchase

My purchasing plans for DEC-B tokens

I have 3 Land Plots and will need 90000 DEC-B to purchase and use 3 Starter packages for each of my land plots.

Therefore I will purchase at least 100K DEC-B before April 9, 2023 and thus before the sale of DEC-B tokens ends.

DEC-B: Cosa sono, Come comprarli, Perchè Comprarli e Casi d'uso!

Il 9 aprile 2023 alle ore 18:00 GMT terminerà la vendita dei DEC-B (DEC Batteries).

Su Discord e nei commenti ai miei precedenti post ho spesso ricevuto le seguenti domande:

Cosa sono i DEC-B?
A cosa servono i DEC-B?
Conviene comprare i DEC-B?

Nel post di oggi risponderò a queste tre domande e mostrerò i casi d'uso dei DEC-B e farò anche dei calcoli per mostrare il metodo più conveniente per acquistare i DEC-B.

Cosa sono i DEC-B?

I DEC Batteries (DEC-B) sono la versione non trasferibile e non vendibile dei DEC.
In pratica i DEC-B sono la versione Souldound dei token DEC e come le Soulbound Reward Cards che possono essere utilizzate nel gioco ma non possono essere vendute o trasferite, i token DEC-B possono solo essere utilizzati come pagamento per speciali acquisti o per partecipare ad alcune promozioni nello Shop di Splinterlands.

Perchè comprare i DEC-B?

Se i token DEC-B non possono essere trasferiti o venduti perchè un giocatore dovrebbe comprarli invece di utilizzare direttamente i token DEC?

La risposta alla domanda precedente è semplice: la convenienza!

I token DEC-B hanno lo stesso potere di acquisto dei DEC (nei casi di acquisto consentiti) ma hanno un costo inferiore del 20%.

Questo vuol dire che se per un acquisto è possibile utilizzare i token DEC e i token DEC-B come metodo di pagamento è sempre preferibile utilizzare i token DEC-B invece dei token DEC.

Come acquistare i token DEC-B

I token DEC-B possono essere acquistati dalla sezione DEC della Dashboard di Splinterlands cliccando su Batteries nel riquadro a destra come indicato dalle freccie numerate nell'immagine seguente.

Per acquistare i token DEC-B è possibile utilizzare due metodi di pagamento:

• DEC: 1 DEC = 1.25 DEC-B
• VOUCHER: 1 VOUCHER = 200 DEC-B

In base al valore di mercato dei token VOUCHER potrebbe essere più conveniente utilizzare i token VOUCHER invece dei token DEC come metodo di pagamento per acquistare i token DEC-B.
Per questo motivo ti consiglio sempre di fare una valutazione preliminare basata sul v alore di mercato dei token VOUCHER prima di acquistare i token DEC-B.

Ad esempio oggi 3 aprile 2023:
1 DEC = 0.00203739 HIVE = 0.0008313$
1 VOUCHER = 0.32497227 HIVE = 0.1325887$

In base al valore attuale di mercato (Lowest Ask) dei token DEC e dei token VOUCHER acquistare i token DEC-B con i token VOUCHER invece che con i token DEC è più conveniente anche se la differenza è minima: -0.0000021$

La convenienza dell'utilizzo dei token VOUCHER aumenta con la diminuzione del loro valore di mercato.

Casi D'Uso Presenti e Futuri

Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post i token DEC-B hanno un solo caso d'uso: l'acquisto di energy points.

In un mio recente e precedente post ho condiviso alcuni calcoli e alcune considerazioni sull'acquisto degli energy points che puoi leggere cliccando sul seguente link.

Oggi ho aggiornato i calcoli che avevo condiviso nel mio precedente post in base ai valori attuali dei token DEC e dei token VOUCHER e nella tabella seguente puoi vedere che per acquistare gli energy points il metodo di acquisto più conveniente è utilizzare i token DEC-B ottenuti utilizzando i token VOUCHER come metodo di pagamento.

All'unico caso d'uso presente oggi si aggiungeranno altri casi d'uso con l'inizio delle fasi 1.5 e 2 di Praetoria (le lands di Splinterlands).

Infatti dalla lettura del Whitepaper delle lands di Splinterlands (The Secret of Praetoria) è possibile individuare diversi casi d'uso futuri per i token DEC-B.

Lands Starter Packages e DEC-B

Con l'inizio della fase 1.5 delle lands sarà possibile acquistare per un periodo limitato di 60 giorni tre tipi di Starter Packages:

• Building in a Box
• Time Vault
• Unstable Totem

Ogni Starter Package avrà un costo di acquisto di 10000 DEC o 10000 DEC-B

Come puoi vedere dai calcoli presenti nella tabella seguente acquistare gli Starter Packages utilizzando i token DEC-B sarà più conveniente rispetto all'utilizzo dei token DEC e permetterà di risparmiare fino a quasi 5$ nel caso di acquisto di tutti e tre gli starter packages.

Ma l'utilità dei token DEC-B non sarà limitata allo sconto ottenibile per l'acquisto degli starter packages perchè le carte messe in stake nei 5 posti di lavoro per ogni land plot avranno bisogno anche di Power Sources e anche in questo caso per l'acquisto sarà possibile utilizzare i token DEC-B

I miei piani di acquisto per i token DEC-B

Io ho 3 Land Plots e avrò bisogno di 90000 DEC-B per acquistare e utilizzare 3 Starter packages per ogni mio land plot.

Per questo motivo acquisterò almeno 100K DEC-B prima del 9 aprile 2023 quando la vendita dei token DEC-B terminerà.
