Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Battle Challenge! (Aimless)

I love the idea that the Weekly Battle Challenge changed instead of featuring a monster to represent a ruleset. It is so good to do something different than usual and I hope they will continually do this in the future. The best way would be to mix these challenges, so every week would be interesting.

This week we need to show a ruleset, which is the Aimless and the way you used it to your advantage in your Battle. 😇

All monsters have the Scattershot ability, which means that all monster's on both sides of the battlefield will attack a random enemy target.image.png

The Aimless ruleset is one of the trickiest one amongst the other rulesets, because it is quite unpredictable to try to use a plan against your opponent. The attacks of the Ranged and Magic monsters will be totally random, so I think the best way to overcome your opponent is to setup a team with global protection abilities, such as the Protect ability (which give +2 Armor to all of your creatures) or the Strengthen (it gives extra health to all of your creatures).

Individual abilities are also amazing, such as the Scavanger (Gains 1 max health each time any monster dies) and Triage (which heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage).

Praying to the RNG Gods also helpfull, because there is now way to forecast where the attacks will end up. 😁

RulesetDescription
AimlessAll monsters have the Scattershot ability.
Close RanegeRanged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
EarthquakeNon-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

The mana cap was 33 in my next battle and there was only the Water and Death Splinter available to choose from. my choice in here was the Water, because usually they tend to have more protection to support his friendly monsters.

Kelya is an amazing choice for this kind of battle, because he gives +1 Armor and Speed to all of his friendly creatures, which is amazing against the Aimless and Earthquake rulesets.

This is the first time I took a different approach and I picked a different Summoner, which I never played before. 😁

My lineup and the decision behind it!

Summoner
Posssibilus the Wise

image.png

Possibilus the Wise is my new discovery as a replacement of the very popular Kelya Frendul. On Level 3 he is able to bring monsters for Gold League, because he is a Legendary Summoner. 😎

This Summoner as a Legendary one has three abilities, which in a good circumstances are amazing. While the abilities of Kelya is always useful you need to use a bit of strategic thinking using Possibilus.

He gives +2 Health to all of his friendly creatures, which is amazing in a battle, where the Earhtquake damages you creatures every round and it is also helpful against the random hits on my backline with the many Scattershot abilities. 😉

Providing Trample and Reach is also beneficial, but only if you have some Melee attack creatures in your setup whom could take advantage of that. 😎

Main Tank
Baakjira

image.png

Baakjira is a pretty solid tank, but unfortunately he doesn't have any attacks, so he is more like a solid rock in my frontline. His role is to withstand any Melee attack from the enemy tank and off-tank long enough until my team will damage his backline down.

He has a nice set off abilities to protect himself, such as the Heal ability, which will restore a portion of the Monster's health each round. The Void will protect him against the enemy Magic attacks, but in this fight it would be rare if any of those will target him directly.

His third ability as a Level 3 Legendary is the Slow, which will reduce the Speed of all enemy monsters by one. 😎

Off-Tank and Hunter with Poison
Deeplurker

image.png

The Deeplurker is a must have creature almost in every battle using the Water Splinter, because he cost only 6 mana and has the Opportunity ability. He will always attack the lowest Health from the enemy backline and if he is lucky enough he might even Posion them as well.

He has the Trample ability from Possibilus, so if he kills a creature he will perform another attack on his next target. 😉

Sneaker and Poisoner
Uraeus

image.png

The Uraeus is a Sneak creature, which means tha he will attack the last creature from the enemy team. Usually his target is a weaker support creature unless my opponent prepared against him. The Poison ability is a nice addition and if it works he will eradicate his targets rather quickly. 😁

He doesn't have the Flying ability, but he has one Armor on its own, whih helps a bit to survive the Earthquake one round longer.

Protector
Venari Wavesmith

image.png

The Venari Wavesmith is an amazing card, because he has the Protect ability, which gives +2 Armor to all of his friendly creatures. This ability works perfectly in the Earthquake and Aimless ruleset as long as he is alive. 😆

Flying Sneaker
Pelacor Bandit

image.png

The Pelacor Bandit is a Sneak creature like the Uraeus, but the biggest difference is that he as able to Fly, so he is completely resistant against the Earthquake ruleset. He has huge Speed, which is very good to dodge an incoming Melee and Ranged attack and if he is able to kill another creature he will take advantage of the Trample ability attacking another creature immediately. 😌

Backline Healer
Angelic Mandarin

image.png

The Angelic Mandarin is the perfect backline support for this battle, because he has the Triage ability, which comes very handy against the Earthquake and Aimless rulesets. The +2 Health buff is very good to raise the Health of this creature to nine. 😇

My opponent brought Kelya and a pretty usual team against me, so it will be a nice measure how Possibilus the Wise will stand up against him.

In the first round not much happened, because the Armors on both sides took most of the hit and the only important thing was made by my Deeplurker who Poisoned his Igor Darkspear. At the end of the round the Earthquake damaged 2 to all of the monsters on the battlefield except the two Bandits. Thanks to the Posion on Igor he died at the end of the round with peace. 😅

Kelya did not give any Health bonus to his monsters, which looks like a huge disadvantage in this battle, because they get much closer to die against the Earthquake damage in every round.

❣️ There is one thing that I do not understand that my Pelacor Bandit made a killing blow against his Deeplurker and he didn't get an extra attack from his Trample. 😵 (I would be so happy if someone would explain that to me!) ❣️

In the end of the second round my Deeplurker killed his Mandarin and straight away he attacked his Pelacor Bandit and removed his Armor.

In the third round he lost his Pelacor Bandit and not much happened apart from the Earthquake, which damaged my team badly, because all of them are still alive. 😅

His Diemonshark always made a huge come back, because he has Enrage, so he increased his own Speed and Damge and with the help of the Trample he killed my tank and off-tank after each other. 😧

Luckily my Bandit and Uraeus made a successful two attacks against his huge Speed Diemonshark and secured my win. 🎉😎

There is one thing that I do not understand that my Pelacor Bandit made a killing blow against his Deeplurker and he didn't get an extra attack from his Trample. 😵 (I would be so happy if someone would explain that to me!) ❣️

The reason is simple, Trample applies on the monster next to the one you've defeated. However, by killing the monster on the last position (Deeplurker), there is no monster after the 6th position that's why there wasn't another attack!
