My Weekly Battle Mage Secrets - Rise of the Commons
Overview
The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁
This week the ruleset is the Rise of the Commons, which means that only common and rare units may be used in battles.
Summoners are unaffected by this rule, so it might worth to use some of the legendary ones to further boost your team. 😁
The upcoming Battle ruleset
| Ruleset | Description |
|---|---|
| Reverse Speed | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. |
| Rise of the Commons | Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles. |
The mana cap for my next battle was only 19, which is a very small amount to assemble a reliable winning team. I do not really like these small mana cap battles, because the monsters are either too weak or if you use few big ones than your opponent might use the same.
The Rise of the Commons ruleset is not helping at all for the low mana ruleset, because it removes all the Epic and Legendary monsters from the battle, so I will have less choice to choose from.
Althought the Reverse Speed ruleset will spice the things up a little, because I might use different monsters than usual to take advantage of the low speed on my monsters. 😊
My lineup
 | Alric Stormbringer is a pretty strong Summoner, because he cost only 3 mana, which is amazing and his power is to give +1 magic to all of his friendly monsters, which is unbelievable strong. 😁 |
| The Cruel Sethropod is another low cost monster, costing only 3 mana and he has 2 melee attack as well, which pretty strong. Usually I pick the Sethropod under 20 mana as my my tank, because his cost/health and armor ratio is pretty high. 😊 |  |
 | The Hardy Stonesfish cost only one mana and even thought he is able to attack most of the times I use him to soak up one or two attack from the enemy monsters. 😅 |
| The Furious Chicken cost nothing to use in any battle, so he is an easy fit, but he is quite weak as well, but he is able to block one incoming attack from the enemy team for free, which is amazing. 😉 |  |
 | The Medusa has an interesting role in my team apart from his +3 magicdamage buffed up by Alric. She has the Stun ability, which means that she will be able to Stun her target with a trigger rate of 50% and if she manages to do that his target will skip its next turn completely. 💪 |
| The Ice Pixie is one of the cheapest magic attack monster and such it is essential to use her in low mana or mini league battles. Her attack is +2 thanks to Alric, but if it is possible do not use her at the back, because she got only one health. 😋 |  |
 | The Riverboat Captain is an amazing middle mana cost damage dealer, becasue he has +3 magic attack damage, which is amazing, but on top of that he has the Blast ability, which will deal extra damage the monsters next to his target. The Affliction ability will swithc off the enemy heal on his target if they try to use any. 😇 |
The Battle
My opponent also brought Alric, but with a different lineup, so it will be interesting to see who will previal over each other! 😁
He brought his Chicken as his main tank and he was lucky to block two attack as well thanks to the Protect ability on his Venari Wavesmith. Luckily the speed difference doesn't mean a lot against the magic attacks, so my magic monsters killed him easily.
By the end of the first round I have lost my Sethropod and Stonefish, but that was their purpose.
In the second round my monsters attacked first and they managed to kill their Captain's Ghost who had a lot of health. Their last two monster killed my Medusa, so everthing will be decided by the last round. 😏
In a normal fight I might lose this battle, but luckily my Riverboat Captain attacked first and he used his Blast damage to kill both of their monster at the same time! 😁

My strategy worked as I expected, because Alric and his +1 magic attack buff is amazingly strong and even my opponent used him as well! Luckily my team setup was a bit superior than his, so my team managed to win this battle. 😇
