Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

This week the ruleset is the Reverse Speed, which means that units with lower speeds will attack before units with higher speeds. Attack accuracy based on speed will also be reversed.

Units with the Bloodlust ability will increase speed after killing a unit. Avoid using Slow as this will help your opponent.

The upcoming Battle ruleset

RulesetDescription
Reverse SpeedMonsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.
Try to pick monsters with 1 speed because they have the best chance of evading Melee and Ranged attacks. Beware of monsters with Enrage and Last Stand, these abilities increase speed when activated.

The mana cap for my next battle was 44, which is quite a lot to setup a nice team, but the most important here is to pick monsters with very low speeds, because they will start each turn and the lowest speed monsters might dodge a lot of attacks against the quicky ones.

Only the Fire Splinter was banned from this battle, but overall they are not the slowest anyway, so I wouldn't choose them. 😁

My lineup

image.png
Thaddius Brood is a Death Summoner who gives -1 magic and health to all of the enemy monsters. I picked this Splinter, because most of their monsters are quite slow, which will be perfect for the Reverse Speed ruleset. 😇
I love to use the Harklaw as my main tank, because he is quite resilient against the incoming melee and ranged attacks thanks to his Shield ability. He also has the Demoralize ability, which will decrease the melee attack by one of the enemy monsters. 😁

image.png
The Djinn Muirat is an amazing off-tank especially against magic attack creatures, because he has the Magic Reflect ability. The Giant Killer will help him to deal double damage if his target mana cost is 10 or more. 😉
The Phantom Soldier is an excellent damage dealer, because he has a lot of health and three magic damage. He has the Flying ability, which helps him to dodge few attacks and his Silence will further decrease the magic damage of the enemy monsters. 😌

The Ravenhood Warden has two ranged attack damage, which is nice, but his most important ability is Protect, which will give +2 armor to all of his friendly monsters. 😊
I always like to use the Venari Bonesmith when it comes playing with the Death Splinter, because he has the Life Leech ability, which will increase his own health with every damage he makes. The Poison will help him a lot to deal a lot of damage, because if it triggers on an enemy monster it will damage 2 in every end of the round. 😅

The Revealer is a Stunner, which means that he will have a 50% chance to Stun his target with every attack he makes. He also has only +2 speed, so he will attack quite fast in every round and if he manages to trigger his Stun it could easily change the outcome of the battle. 🤗

My opponent brought another "slow" Splinter, which is the Earth and luckily my Thaddius Brood easily countered her +1 magic ability buff. 😆

In a normal fight my Harklaw would be very weak against the magic attack monsters, but my Phantom Soldier decreased the magic attack of the enemy monsters, so they couldn't deal a lot of damage to him. 😜

My opponent used the Mycelic Slipspawn at the back of his lineup, so my team focused his entire damage on her, so she died out by the end of the first round rather easily.

His Mycelic Infantry is also a very good tank, but I had 4 magic attack monster to try to remove him from the battle quickly, which is happened by the end of the second round.

My Harklaw lasted until the beginning of the third round, which is quite good, but I also lost my Djinn Muirat, because the Snipe ability on Hunter Jarx. 😣

After my opponent lost his tank at the front he started to lose his monsters one by one in every round, which eventually secured the win for me. 🤗

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked, becuase I brought very strong monsters whom has a low amount of speed, but in the Reverse Speed ruleset this became my advantage. I like rulesets, which will turn the usual playstyle to upside down, becuase it will allow me to think out of the box. 😇
