Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

I had a very difficult time to make a post about the weekly Battle Mage Secrets with the Broken Arrow ruleset, because out of 50 games I had only one battle with that and I already used that to write about it in my first entry.

I had to choose a different ruleset instead of that and I thought why not to show the exact opposite ruleset of the Broken Arrow, because in that you can not bring any ranged attack monsters, so I choose a ruleset where you NEED to bring them as there is no other option. 😇

The Going the Distance means that only monsters with Ranged attack may be used in the battles. I hope that would be interesting to see how I prepared my team in this ruleset.

The upcoming Battle ruleset

Ruleset	Description
Going the Distance	Only monsters with ranged attack may be used in the battles.
Ferocity	All monsters have the Fury ability.
Armored Up	All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.

This ruleset had a lot of mana to build my team, but the available Splinters were limited to only one. The best of the Summoner for this setup would be Quix the Devious who would give -1 speed and ranged attack to all the enemy monsters, but luckily neither of us had that Summoner at their disposal. 😁

There was only the Fire and Dragon Splitners available, so I had to bring a Fire Summoner to my side who was completely useless in this fight, because she gives +1 melee attack to my monsters. At least I could use her +1 health buff, which gave me a bit of advantage in my battle. 🤗

My lineup

	Tarsa gives +1 melee and +1 health to all of her friendly monsters. This is very powerful if you happen to pick melee creatures, but in my case she gives only +1 health. She cost only 4 mana, so she has space for a lot of monsters in her team. 😊
The Molten Ash Golem is a Rare Fire card, which is quite powerful thanks to his big health. He is a ranged attack card, but he is able to attack from the first position as well, which makes him an excellent tank with this ruleset. 😊
	The Gargoya Devil is a ranged monster with the ability of attacking from the first position like the Molten Ash Golem. The only problem with him is that he has a very small amount of health, but at least he has 1 armor. 😉
The Lava Launcher is an excellent ranged card and he is able to attack from the first position as well. The other amazing ability he has is the Stun, which will skip his target turn if it triggers. 😁
	I used the Supply Runner to achieve the maximum possible Speed buff what this strategy could offer, because the Supply Runner also has the Swiftness ability and he is a neutral card, so it is easy to include into any team. He also has 2 ranged attack, which is quite nice costing 6 mana. 😎
One of the ruleset was to provide +2 armor to all the monster on the battlefield, so the Flamesmith is one of the best choice for this fight, because he has the Shatter ability, which will destroy all the armor on his target after his attack and he also has the ability to Repair the most damaged armor on a friendly monster in every round. 🤗
	Countess Sinash is one of the Speed buffer in my team and she will raise the Speed of all of her friendly monsters by one thanks to her Swiftness ability. She also has the Opportunity ability to attack the lowest health monsters trying to get rid of the squishy support monsters from the enemy team. 😁

The Battle

My opponent brought Kretch Tallevor who is a Dragon Summoner and such he is able to bring Dragons to his battlefield. Normally I would bring Quix as he would be the best choice, but recently he became a bit more expensive and I didn't have it with me for this fight. 😏

I had a huge advantage double speed buffing my team, so my monsters attacked first and they are straight away killed their tank with ease. In the same round I also lost my tank, but we were about to start the second round as well.

Luckily my Lava Launcher attacked before theirs and he Stunned his target and the Flamesmith repaired 2 of his lost armor, which saved my Devil dying in the second round.

In the third round the same happened again as my monsters attacked first and we managed to kill his Berix Snakeye after attacking him in a row.

There wasn't enough monster left on the battlefield for my opponent to be able to turn the tide and my monsters won the battle for me. 😇

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked very well, because I used two monsters with the speed buff, which proved to be enough to deal the damages first killing or stunning their targets before they could answer anything back. 😊
