Mycelic Slipspawn was first found on the edges of the swamps of Praetoria, in areas where the fetid waters meet with the forests and jungles. It is highly toxic and grows to a substantial size. Death is uncommon for those who touch its fibrous body however, the side effects of its toxins can cause a long list of illnesses and disease, leaving its victims severely debilitated.

When the chaos portal opened and the creeping plague infected the land, the Slipspawn struggled to endure, being completely intolerant to the deadly pandemic. But then Queen Mycelia came, she touched the Slipspawn as she passed it by and it drank from her power, an enduring energy that ran deep and defiantly cast the pestilence of the chaos taint aside. The Slipspawn pulled its roots free from the ground and eagerly danced across the leafy forest floor after her, desperate to follow its saviour and stand by her in the times to come.

Overview

The Mycelic Slipspawn is an interesting monster, because he has the Taunt ability. This ability will make him the primary target for the enemy monsters, so if you can protect him it will buy a lot of time for you to destroy your opponent monsters.

I have to be honest I didn't really use him before this Challenge, but I was winning a lot of games just because of him! He gave me the upper hand on my opponents, because they were wasting a lot of resources by killing him. 😁

Stats and abilities

Level	Ability	Description
Level 1	Taunt	All enemy Monsters target this Monster. (if they are able to)
Level 4	Forcefield	This Monster takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5+.
Level 8	Slow	Reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters.

Hint: Be careful not to use monster with this ability in the Reverse speed ruleset; to do so is to buff your enemy's team.

The Taunt ability is the main reason why I started to use the Mycelic Slipspawn. He can be used in high mana battles to diverse the damage from my opponent to this monster.

On Level 4 the Forcfield makes him to withstand big attacks and reducing them to the minimum of one. It is very handy against strong enemy attacks.

I haven't reached to a League to be able to use a Level 8 Mycelic Slipspawn, but an extra Slow is always good. 😁

Market prices of the Mycelic Slipspawn

If you are going to burn and delete from the existence this card will yield 20 DEC if it is a regular card and 500 DEC if it was a gold card. (I have no idea why would you that, but as you can see below there was 1 gold card burned by a missclick and 97 regular cards were burned! 😲 )

The card price fluctuated a bit in the last 6 months, but it almost went back to his original price. Lately his price started to jump up, maybe because the Riftwatchers are coming soon and this monster would be nice counter against them. 😉

The upcoming Battle ruleset

Ruleset	Description
Stampede	The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
Heavy Hitters	All Monsters have the Knock Out ability.

My lineup

The Obsidian is a powerful summoner, which increases the Magic damage of her monsters by one. The Earth Splinter has a lot of good Magic attack monsters, but if the enemy knows that you bring this one it is very easy to counter.
	The Unicorn Mustang is an excellent tank, with amazing abilities. The Void and Magic Reflect comes very handy in a battle against enemy Mages, but his drawback is his price tag. As an Untamed monster he cost a lot to rent or own.
The Regal Peryton has a very high speed and it is a flying creature, which allows him to dodge a lot of incoming melee and ranged attacks. He cost only 5 mana, which is reasonabley low for his talents.
	The Mitica Headhunter is a very strong Ranged monster especially on Level 4 where she receives the Piercing ability. This makes her attack to be devastating, because if the enemy monster armor is less than her damage the excess damage will damage his health as well.
The Queen Mycelia has got 3 amazing ability to support the team. The first is Protect, which will give 2 Armor to all of her friendly monsters. The second is Amplify, which will reflect an extra damage from fellow reflecting monsters. The third is the Triage, which will heal the last friendly monster in the team.
	Kron Undying is the perfect monster, he has Magic attack, high health pool, self Heal ability, and Last Stand on Level 3. He is almost indistructible, but he is also my highest cost monster I rented so far.
The Mycelic Slipspawn enables me to use tactics I never used before. The Taunt ability is very good to surprise and counter my opponent plan.

The Battle

My opponent tried to counter me bringing Thaddeus and the Djinn Muirat, but fortunately he wasted four attacks to kill the Mycelic Slipspawn and in the meantime he losted his tank.

This battle could be fatal, because I lost almost everyone leaving only Kron the Undying in my team, but he switched on his Last Stand ability, which increased his own health, speed and attack damage and he was able to kill 3 of his monsters single handedly.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

The strategy using a decoy at the back of my backline is great, because I can manage where my enemy will attack his first attacks and I can deal most of my damage into his tank or supports. I wouldn't change much in this battle, because Kron is the true MVP here. 😇
