IF you ask me, this is the nice loot you have got from season chests, epics, DEC, and 3 packs. Although packs did not give you any good cards but will help your daily airdrop points grow.
I am stil struggling with the game, first thing I had to remove starter cards in order to receive some focus points, 2nd win rate is not so good except dragon and earth units.
A should be hard but this is extemely difficult to play the game, I feel that devs want us to just invest in the DAO SPS and for this they are making the game more difficult.
Anyway, let's hope 2 or 3 months more will take me to grow my portfolio.

In the end I agree with you that it was not really to throw away the loot collected at the end of the season but if you also take into account the daily results that have dropped badly compared to the previous style of play, I sincerely hoped for a little more that could go to balance things out
With the new implementations added to the game actually in order to start collecting the points necessary to open chests you must necessarily buy some cards otherwise it is literally impossible
Each of us players of splinterlands have some favorite elements and some that we love much less and are the first ones that allow us to obtain the greatest wins and consequently the greatest points
Even in your case it is very simply training that leads you to be increasingly good at mastering the various sides that you can put on the field.
Sure it will take some time for you to grow your portfolio but over time I still have faith that splinterlands can prove to be a good investment that can bring great returns

This my plan but as I mostly depend on Hive, it is a bit slower than what investors do, but I also put some of my investment in DAO, which I think will pay off in SPS and Vouchers. But, it is just one side, my main goal is to get my ranks up, and for that renting is the only option, which I had tried but daily renting is getting expensive day by day, and it is good if I have something coming up into my funds from the game.
As we already discussed this new model is based focus and owned cards, it only benefits existing players, and nothing drops in the laps of new player, the bots are still here and beefed up even more in order grab focus points, so what makes thing change any good for players benefits.
Well, I wish they decentralize the governance so that community can decide their right and wrong!

Trying to invest to have a return in SPS and vouchers is certainly not a bad idea because I think that especially if the SPS will become more and more central to the future of the game, there will inevitably be an increase in their value.
In the same way, leveling up to try to get better rewards is increasingly necessary.But I admit that even the rent of the cards is actually increasing rather quickly because more and more players are resorting to this method to increase the strength of their decks of cards
Surely the old players are partly advantaged especially those who have invested heavily in the game from the beginning and that they are the ones who benefit the most but I believe that even new players can over time have their satisfactions.
Surely in this regard the bots are definitely harmful and if this change was made to hope to change things about this thing I would say that it has failed miserably.
It wouldn't be a bad guess if governance were decentralized, but I'm not at all sure it will
