The game needs improvement for new players as well, as you see after the update starter cards are just for showcasing and not for earning focus and RPs.
But, as I see you are doing excellent in this game. Good cards to grab and enjoy more airdrops.

Thanks for reading my post, actually there are several strategies that you can follow to do well, at the initial days of the revised reward system, it was very difficult for me to get more than 4/5 loot chests!
But after gathering some experience and understanding the game now I can grab more than 10 loot chests daily by decreasing only 20-25% ECR. To gain more R-shares, I rent the summoner except the DRAGON one, rent some gold/alpha/beta cards according to my DAILY FOCUS. And as a result from the gold 2/3 i can grab up to 20-23K R-shares per battle where I need 18K for first loot chest!
Nice to read about this strategy, considering the reward outcome, I don't feel comfortable with rentals. I did try in the past when this change came into effect, but I wasted that money spent on rental. So, I decided to buy packs or card and increase my league rating.
Today I received 10 DEC and 1 Alchemy, and how hard is to get focus points after this new change can be seen from players furious about the change and new players are confused for not earning anything.
Maybe, I'll try renting but when I feel renting can bring profits.

Yeah you are right, renting is now more expensive throughout the whole season, but when you get some good DEC in loot chests you can rent, otherwise not, you can read my latest post about more details. for my strategy, I never rent more that I can get from the loot chests, like last week I got 944 DEC from a single loot chests which I can use for one weeks rental easily, I don't recommend to spent here, I am trying to grow my collection with the reward cards as when you want to upgrade these you can realize how necessary to get a tons of these cards!
And it is also true that often you will get very few DEC, like for last two days I am getting only 32 or 40 DEC from the loot chests.
