This week I embarked once again on the challenging Splinterlands art contest, and decided to pay homage to one of the most mysterious and captivating characters: the "Dark Ferryman". Have you heard of the Dark Ferrymen of Mortis? These shadowy travelers not only transport Dark Eternals, but also living souls on an unforgettable journey through the Splinterlands.

Imagine a night with a full moon, where shadows dance in the darkness and the whisper of the wind mingles with the soft murmur of the water. In that magical setting, I drew the Dark Ferryman, plying the waters in his barge illuminated by a dim lamp. His dark blue tunic billows gracefully as he rows, guiding the intrepid passengers to the shore of Mortis.

The rocky shores of Mortis are unreachable by ships, except in the harbor of Galzur. It is here that the Dark Ferryman displays his skills, taking travelers, both Dark Eternals and the living, on a journey full of mystery and wonder. Even those who simply wish to visit Beluroc are welcome aboard.

The figure of the Dark Ferryman comes to life in my illustration, his red eyes glowing in the night like guiding beacons. His presence exudes an aura of enigma and power, as the light of his lamp illuminates the way in the dark waters. The atmosphere of the night is filled with magic, and each digital stroke tells a story of journey and destiny.

As you immerse yourself in this fantasy world, I invite each of you to imagine the gentle rocking of the barge, to feel the night breeze caressing your face, and to let yourself be carried away by the magic that only Splinterlands can offer. Imaginen una noche de luna llena, donde las sombras danzan en la oscuridad y el susurro del viento se mezcla con el suave murmullo del agua. En ese escenario mágico, dibujé al Dark Ferryman, surcando las aguas en su barcaza iluminada por una lámpara tenue. Su túnica azul oscuro ondea con elegancia mientras rema, guiando a los intrépidos pasajeros hacia la orilla de Mortis.

Las rocosas costas de Mortis son inalcanzables para los barcos, excepto en el puerto de Galzur. The Dark Ferrymen of Mortis are well-known throughout the Splinterlands, for they carry on their ferries not only Dark Eternals, but the living as well. Ships are not able to approach the rocky shores of Mortis except at the port of Galzur, so ferries must take all passengers from boat to shore, even those of the living who simply wish to visit Beluroc.

Los Transbordadores Oscuros de Mortis son bien conocidos en todas las Tierras Escindidas, pues no sólo transportan en sus transbordadores a los Eternos Oscuros, sino también a los vivos. Los barcos no pueden acercarse a las rocosas costas de Mortis salvo en el puerto de Galzur, por lo que los transbordadores deben llevar a todos los pasajeros del barco a la orilla, incluso a aquellos de los vivos que simplemente desean visitar Beluroc.

Process / Proceso

I began my artistic odyssey with a detailed sketch tracing the lines of the enigmatic Dark Ferryman. Drawing after drawing, I strove to capture the essence of the character, his unique traits and the mysterious atmosphere surrounding the Dark Ferryman of Mortis. Each stroke was one step closer to capturing my vision on screen.

After shaping my sketch, I immersed myself in the fascinating world of outlining. Every contour, every detail became crucial to convey the depth and presence of the Ferryman in the dark full moon night. The gloom of his dark blue robe and the glints of his glowing red eyes began to emerge, inviting viewers to delve into the mystery that this character holds.

With the outlining complete, it was time to bring my creation to life. The coloring was like adding layers of magic to the scene. The dark waters of the river were illuminated by the reflection of the light from the Ferryman's lamp, creating a dance of shadows and sparkles that added depth and realism to the composition. Each brushstroke was a small act of digital magic.

Next, I dipped my virtual brushes into the art of shadows and glows. Cautiously and meticulously, I rendered the shadows that danced on the surface of the water, and the subtle sparkles that shimmered in the Dark Ferryman's tunic and eyes. Each detail was like a visual whisper that added drama and life to the night scene.

At the end of this creative journey, I found myself marveling at the end result. Dark Ferryman, with his imposing presence and enigmatic aura, now inhabited the screen, ready to embark viewers on a journey through the Broken Lands. It was a process full of challenges and rewards, but above all, it was the opportunity to bring a legendary character to life through my own artistic perspective. I hope that by watching him, you too can feel the magic of this dark journey!

Comencé mi odisea artística con un boceto detallado que trazaba las líneas del enigmático Dark Ferryman. Dibujo tras dibujo, me esforzaba por capturar la esencia del personaje, sus rasgos únicos y la atmósfera misteriosa que rodea a los Transbordadores Oscuros de Mortis. Cada trazo era un paso más cerca de plasmar mi visión en la pantalla.

Después de darle forma a mi boceto, me sumergí en el fascinante mundo del delineado. Cada contorno, cada detalle se volvía crucial para transmitir la profundidad y la presencia del Ferryman en la oscura noche de luna llena. La penumbra de su túnica azul oscuro y los destellos de sus ojos rojos brillantes comenzaban a emerger, invitando a los espectadores a adentrarse en el misterio que este personaje encierra.

Con el delineado completo, llegó el momento de darle vida a mi creación. El coloreado fue como añadir capas de magia a la escena. Las aguas oscuras del río se iluminaban con el reflejo de la luz de la lámpara del Ferryman, creando una danza de sombras y destellos que añadían profundidad y realismo a la composición. Cada pincelada era un pequeño acto de magia digital.

Luego, sumergí mis pinceles virtuales en el arte de las sombras y brillos. Cauta y meticulosamente, realicé las sombras que danzaban en la superficie del agua, y los sutiles destellos que resplandecían en la túnica y los ojos del Dark Ferryman. Cada detalle era como un susurro visual que añadía dramatismo y vida a la escena nocturna.

Al final de este viaje creativo, me encontré maravillada con el resultado final. Dark Ferryman, con su presencia imponente y aura enigmática, ahora habitaba la pantalla, listo para embarcar a los espectadores en un viaje a través de las Tierras Escindidas.
