Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGONS!"

A new week in the Splinterlands, and a new Weekly Battle Challenge, this week I will talk about the Dragon Element, so I'll have to use a Dragon Summoner to take advantage of the fantastic Dragon Monsters because they can only be used with a Summoner of their Element.

It is important to remind you that the new mini-expansion Riftwatchers has been released, so I'll show you some new Monsters and how I used them.

Personally, I only own Quix the Devious as a Dragon Summoner, so not to lose RP points at the end of the battle I will have to use it.

Quix the Devious is an interesting Summoner that debuffs Opponent's Monsters' Ranged Attacks and Speeds so to use it properly it should be used to outspeed Opponent's Monsters taking advantage of misses and versus Opponents that rely on Ranged Attack Monsters.

speed.png

Every point differential in Speed is a 10% chance of missing, so I'll try to have the most possible Speed advantage versus my Opponent.

The intro to the element and to the Summoner I used is over, let's see how was the Battle:

Schermata 2022-10-03 alle 15.15.07.png

Rules Of Combat: Positive The Rise of the Commons rule prevents me and my Opponent to use Epic and Legendary cards, so it is pretty neutral, but the Super Sneak rule is really positive because I will know where my Opponent's Melee Monsters' Attacks will hit.

Mana Cap: Positive The Riftwatchers' expansion cards are powerful but really expensive cards, so with a high Mana cap, I will be able to use them to take advantage of their amazing abilities and stats.

Active Elements: Positive There are only the Life and Dragon Elements available, which means that in case my Opponent would choose the General Sloan Life Summoner, Quix could defuse its buff in Ranged Attack, giving me a good benefit.

Summoner: Quix the Devious As I said before, it is my only Dragon Summoner so I'm a bit "forced" in using it, luckily with this Mana cap and these available Elements, it is a perfect choice.

The Strategy: I opted for a "debuffing" strategy, my Opponent's Monsters will have a double debuff in Speed, a debuff in Melee Attack, and a debuff in Ranged attack.
Furthermore, I placed in the last position a Riftwatcher Dragon card with the Flying ability and an incredible 6 in Speed stat, which means that my Opponent's Melee Attack Monsters, triggered by the Rule of Combat Super Sneak, will have really low chances to hit it.
One last thing: I used 3 Monsters with Magic Attack to ignore the eventual Armor that my Opponent's Monsters could have.

So, in the first position I placed the first "debuffer":

disintegrator.png

The Disintegrator's task is to lower the Melee Monster's attack stat and to take some hits as the first Tank.

In the second position I placed one of the new Riftwatchers cards:

corsair.png

The Corsair Bosun is the perfect "second tank" thanks to its ability Reach and thanks to its second ability Reflect Shield, unfortunately, its Mana cost is really high so it is not possible to use it in every battle.

In the third position, I used another Riftwatchers card, a Monster with Magic Attack:

timemeddler.png

Thanks to its Dodge ability and its Armor stat, it can be considered a third Tank, so my weaker Monsters are really covered.
As the Corsair Bosun, it has a high Mana cost, so it is not possible to use it in every battle.

In the fourth position, I placed a useful card, again from the Riftwatchers expansion:

scavotechnomancer.png

I choose this card because in the case my Opponent had chosen a creature with the Taunt ability the Scavo Technomancer would be able to damage even the Monsters near it, ignoring the eventual armor thanks to its Magic Attack.

In the fifth position, I chose my second debuffer Monster:

time mage.png

Another Magic Attack Monster, able to lower the Opponent's Monsters Speed stat, giving me an enormous Speed advantage.

And in the last position, I placed a magnificent card, the second Dragon of the day:

runicskyclaw.png

I had the luck to find it GF, it is an amazing card, practically impossible to hit by my Opponent's Melee Attack Monsters and with a high Ranged Attack, furthermore, thanks to its ability the Runic Skyclaw will target the first non-Melee Opponent's Monster, not in the first position, so a real scourge for my Opponent's second lines.

Let's see the battle:

bat1.png

My Opponent had a Level 4 General Sloan... luckily I had my Quix the Devious Summoner.

As you can see, my Monsters were definitely superior, especially thanks to the powerful Riftwatchers cards.
And all my Opponent's Monsters Speed stat was 1.

bat2.png

Despite the Speed differences I lost 2 Tanks, and the Time Meddler was hit. The Runic Skyclaw, obviously, was untouched.

Juicy victory, thank you Riftwatchers.

Please note: the Riftwatchers cards are powerful but they cost, generally, a lot of Mana, if you need cards for high Mana battles, check the "Gems" packs on Splinterlands, you could find some amazing Monsters.

Best regards,
Magalli
