Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LIFE SAPPER!"

A new week in the Splinterlands, and time for a new Weekly Battle Challenge, this week I'll talk about the Life Sapper, an interesting Death Element Magic Attacker with the Life Leech ability.

charac.png

1 ) Mana cost: 3 Considering the stats and the ability, the Mana cost is fair.

2 ) Magic Attack: 1 Lowest value possible, not really interesting.

3 ) Speed: 2 A bit too low considering that the Life Sapper need to hit to start taking advantage of its ability.

4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion. I highlighted that because the Expansion of a card determines if the Monster can be played in Modern and Wild Format, or only in Modern Format.
This card can be played in both Formats because it is from the most recent expansion.

5 ) Health: 2 Low health, the Life Sapper needs time and to be protected to start being useful.

6 ) Element: Death means it can be used only with Death and Dragon Summoners.

7 ) Ability: Life Leech it is the most interesting thing about that Monster because this ability increases the Life Sapper's health in proportion of the damage it deals to the Opponent's Monsters.

Please note: the Life Sapper has no Armor.

The Rules of Combat where the Life Sapper is useful are not many:

As you can imagine, with the Explosive Weaponery Rule the Life Sapper's ability becomes really strong because it doubles the effect hitting twice. With the other Rules the Sapper is just a nice card to use, its real use is in case of low Mana Battles, where it can "farm" Health becoming hard to break down.

The introduction to the card is over, let's see how it works in battle!

Rules Of Combat: Neutral The Rise of the Commons Rule is Neutral, because it allows me to use the Life Sapper but it doesn't add any advantage to me.

Mana Cap: Positive With a low Mana cap I'm less scared of the eventuality that my Opponent use a Tank resistant to Magic Attacks (like the Unicorn Mustang) and let me take advantage of the Life Sapper, I just need to protect it a couple of rounds, letting it "farming" Health.

Active Elements: Positive The absence of the Fire and Water elements calms me, because there are less chances to face Monsters with the Sneak or the Opportunity ability. (Well, I forgot a couple of Light Monsters during my analysis).

Summoner: Thaddius Brood I think it is the best choice because it allows me to use one of the best Tank in the Modern Format and at the same time covers me from the eventuality that my Opponent chose a Magic Deck.

The Strategy: I opted for an "annoying" strategy, while my Tank lowers my Opponent's Monsters' Health thanks to its ability and Physical Attack I protect the Life Sapper with two "baits" while it increase its Health becoming more difficult to eliminate during the final Rounds.

So in the first position I opted for my favorite Death Tank:

Well when ther's a low Mana cap Battle, the Cursed Windeku is always a nice choice, it costs only 6 Mana and has a lot of Health, a nice Attack and an excellent ability, what else?

In the second position I place my first bait:

Nice low cost bait, at the moment I have leveled it up, so it has the Dodge ability too that gives it a 25% chance to be missed by Opponent's Monsters' Physical attacks. Furthermore it is a non-Melee attack Monster so it trigger the Opponent's Monsters with the Snipe ability.

In the third position, well protected, I placed our Character of the Week:

What an amazing artwork for this interesting card.

And, in the last position, I placed the second Bait:

Thanks to my Level 2 Summoner I can take advantage of its ability too, that gives it a 25% more of being missed by Physical Attacks.

Never understimate the percentages of a miss, it can change an entire battle.

Let's see the battle:

As you can see, when I wrote that the absence of the Water and Fire Elements was good because I didn't have to worry about Monsters with the Sneak and the Opportunity ability I was terribly wrong, luckily I chose to protect my Life Sapper, always better be cautious in the Splinterlands.

bat2.png

The Life Sapper, thanks to the two Baits that gave it time to "farm" Health has been able to absorb two attacks by the Opponent's Monsters. Furthermore it helped the Cursed Windeku to take down the Life Tank particularly resistant thanks to its Shield ability, and resisted until the end of the battle.

Nice win and, as always, nice reward.

Final Consideration: The Life Sapper at low levels is useful only at certain conditions, because it is a particular card and needs time to "farm" health.

Leveling up, when it reaches level 4, it will be able to deal 2 damages and its ability will make it more resistant and interesting.
