Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! MAGI OF CHAOS!"

This week I managed to find some time to write the Weekly Battle Challenge, so let's see this week's card, finally an Epic card!

character.png

1 ) Mana cost: 6 Pretty high Mana cost, but the stats are not bad, so the cost is fair.

2 ) Magic Attack: 2 Not bad, considering it is a Neutral element card, it could be helpful for different types of battles and Summoners.

3 ) Speed: 2 Unfortunately, it is a bit low, but thanks to its health and type of attack (magic attacks can't miss), it is not that bad.

4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion. I highlighted that because the Expansion of a card determines if the Monster can be played in Modern and Wild Format, or only in Modern Format.
This card can be played in both Formats because it is from the most recent expansion.

5 ) Health: 5 Nice stat, it allows the Magi of Chaos to take some hits.

6 ) Element: Neutral It is the best element possible because the Neutral Monsters can be used with every Summoner.

Please note: the Magi of Chaos has no Armor or Ability.

Let's see what type of Rules of Combat are favorable to our character of the week:

rules.png

The Magi of Chaos takes advantage of Rules of Combat that allows it to hit from the second lines while it is protected, so it can exploit its Magic Attack.

So, the introduction to the Magi of Chaos is over, let's see how it worked in battle:

preparing.png

Rules Of Combat: Neutral being a Magic Attack Monster the Magi of Chaos will take only the boost in speed from the Spreading Fury rule and having a nice amount of Health it will be able to resist 3 Rounds to the Noxious Fumes Rule if it will not be hit.

Mana Cap: Positive it is a Mana Cap that allows me to use the Magi of Chaos and take advantage of the strategy I have in mind.

Active Elements: Positive With only Light and Dragon Elements I'm not scared of a debuff in Magic Attack, so the Magi of Chaos should be able to deal the maximum amount of damage possible.

Summoner: Quix the Devious it is a perfect choice because I could only face Life or Dragon Summoners, taking a Speed advantage thanks to Quix's debuffs is always important, furthermore, in case my Opponent chooses a Life deck with a lot of Ranged Attackers Quix would debuff them too.

The Strategy: Thinking about the Rules of Combat I decided on a "Magic Attackers Strategy", the Magic Attacks ignore the Armor of the Opponent's Monsters and considering that they will take an additional 2 damages per turn (directly to the health) thanks to the Noxious Fumes Rule I decided to try to weaken them the most possible letting the Poison do the "dirty work".
In addition, the +1 Buff in Health by the Djinn Renova should extend my resistance to the poison.
The Pelacor Conjurer in the first position is just baiting to gain time, hoping in an Opponent's monster's miss, thanks to its flying ability and Quix's Speed debuff.

I always have to highlight the importance of Attack Accuracy in battles

So, as I said, in the first position I placed the bait:

pelacor conjurer.png

Super useful card...unfortunately, I still can't use it with the Magic Reflect ability, I need to level up my Summoners.

After it, I placed a high Health stat card, able to resist some hits and to buff my Monsters' Health stat:

Then I chose our card of the week:

I already explained the strengths and weaknesses of this interesting epic card.

And in the last position I placed a Riftwatchers card:

timemeddler.png

I chose to use it in the last place because of its Armor stat and its ability, to eventually evade the Opponent's Monsters with the Sneak ability and resist till the end of the battle, as I said, my strategy was to resist more than my Opponent.

Let's see the battle:

My Opponent chose General Sloan as a Summoner, so my Quix was useful, not totally useful unfortunately cause my Opponent's Time Mage's Speed debuff was settling scores with my Quix's Speed debuff, but at least it couldn't take advantage of the +1 buff in Ranged Attack.

Unfortunately, the Pelacor Conjurer didn't evade any attack and died and so did the Djinn Renova...but the Poison didn't hit, yet.

bat3.png

The Time Meddler managed to survive, thanks to its armor, even if it has been hit despite its ability.

bat4.png

Important victory, nice strategy.

Final Considerations:

The Magi of Chaos is an interesting card, especially because being a Neutral Element Monster it can be used with every Summoner, and thanks to its Magic Attack it can be a surprise trump card.

Leveling up it reaches an amazing 4 in Magic Attack, becoming a nice Damage Dealer, especially versus Monsters with no attack.

Best regards,
