Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! PELACOR ARBALEST!"

New week, new battle challenge, this week I will write about the Pelacor Arbalest, an interesting card that for a high mana cost offers an incredible double Ranged Attack.

character.png

1 ) Mana cost: 6 It is a really high mana cost for a card with only 2 in Health stat, but its Ranged Attack mixed with its ability, justifies the cost.

2 ) Ranged Attack: 2 Nice stat, considering the General Sloan's boost in range attack it became really interesting.

3 ) Speed: 2 A bit low, considering its low Health the Pelacor Arbalest could suffer Monsters with the Opportunity ability.

4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion. I highlighted that because the Expansion of a card determines if the Monster can be played in Modern and Wild Format, or only in Modern Format.
This card can be played in both Formats because it is from the most recent expansion.

5 ) Health: 3 It is a bit low, to use properly the Pelacor Arbalest, it needs to be protected.

6 ) Element: Life means it can be used only with Life and Dragon Summoners.

7 ) Ability: Double Strike is an amazing ability that allows the Monster to attack twice per round.

Please note: the Pelacor Arbalest has no Armor.

The Pelacor Arbalest's ability makes it useful in numerous Rules Sets:

As you can see, its ability is useful in various situations, a double attack that could deal 6 damages per round is really interesting, particularly useful in the case of the "Holy Protection" Rule Set thanks to the double hit.

The introduction to the card is over, let's see how it works in battle:

Rules Of Combat: Positive As I have shown in the previous graphic, the "Holy Protection" is a favorable Rule Set for the Pelacor Arbalest, its double attack will hit the Opponent's Monsters at least with one shot.

Mana Cap: Positive The Mana Cap is enough to use the Pelacor Arbalest and protect it.

Active Elements: Neutral The presence of the Water element could be a problem because the Summoner could boost the Armor and the Speed of the Opponent's Monsters, making it more difficult to hit and reduce the Monsters' health, to partially solve the problem I decided to use the Time Mage to reduce Opponent's Monsters' speed (and damage ignoring the Armor).

Summoner: General Sloan Using the General Sloan with the Pelacor Arbalest is always a nice move, the Life Summoner boosts the Pelacor's Ranged attack to 3 making it able to deal 6 damages per turn if it hit every time.

The Strategy: I choose a simple strategy, a Tank with the Shield ability to resist more hits than possible, a Support Healer to make the Tank even more resilient, and the Time Mage as support to lower the Opponent's Monsters' speed making it easier to hit them and the Pelacor Arbalest as Damage Dealer to kill Opponent's Monsters.
The Gargoya Scrapper was a simple bait in the eventuality that my Opponent chose Monsters with the Opportunity ability and the Stitch Leech was useful to Weaken Opponent's second lines.

So, in the first position I deployed the Tank with its useful ability:

Weak versus Magic Attacks due to its low Health but really resilient versus Physical Attackers thanks to its ability and Armor stat.

In the second position I chose to place the bait:

Useful bait for 1 mana cost.

In the third position, I placed the first Support, thanks to its relatively high Health and Speed it could resist a bit in case my first lines Monsters die:

Its ability increases the chances to hit the Opponent's Monsters.

Then I placed the Monster to weak the Opponent's Second lines:

In front of the Pelacor Arbalest to guarantee it more chances to hit.

In the fifth position, I placed the Damage Dealer:

And, in the last position, I placed the second support with its healing ability, I placed it in the last position and not the Pelacor Arbalest because I was scared about the fire element and the Monsters with the Sneak ability (that target the Opponent's Monster in the last position):

Let's see the battle:

As you can see my Opponent chose the same Deck as me but they committed two big mistakes, they didn't protect their Pelacor Arbalest and didn't think about weakening my second lines preferring direct Ranged Attacks to take advantage of the General Sloan's boost.

So I've been able to win, and the Pelacor Arbalest killed 4 Opponent's Monsters out of 6.

The Time Mage has been able to tank a bit and survive till the end of the Battle.

Nice victory.

Final Consideration: The Pelacor Arbalest is an extremely powerful Damage Dealer but with low health and relatively low speed, so to make it shine it needs to be properly supported and protected:

Leveling up it became more resilient and it learns the Flying ability too, really interesting.

Magalli

!1UP Pelacor Arbalest is an excellent DPS, however extremely fragile and requires a lot of protection.
