Accumulating more SPS | NEXT MILESTONE 110K

What’s up my fellow splinterlands players!

Well, I hope all of you are enjoying the day with your loved ones and also waiting eagerly for the weekend to hit you and take away all your stress. And if you are a crypto enthusiast just like me, you may need the weekend even more after witnessing the recent downtrend again in the crypto market as the end of August wasn’t very fruitful to us. While BTC and the majority of other cryptocurrencies were having a decent uptrend after the recent news of Grayscale winning a lawsuit against the SEC, from August 30 onwards, the trend suddenly took a reversal and again went down. No doubt along with BTC, ETH, and most of the other top coins, our beloved Hive and SPS are also facing a dip right now and only God knows when this never-ending bear trend will meet its end. However, while the bear season continues and everything is trading at a discounted price, it’s always a great time to accumulate as much as you can and hold it like it’s the ‘One Piece’ of your life. I guess most of you are doing the same and for me, I am also trying to collect my favorite assets - that is Hive and SPS mostly. As I have shared my goal and strategy in some of my previous posts, I am keeping all the SPS that I earn from both playing the game and from staking rewards and investing them back into the in-game wallet to increase my total stack.

Gladly with SPS, I am doing pretty well and only a couple of hundred left for it to touch 110k which I think I will reach within the next 1 or 2 days. Also with the Hive Power, I have stopped powering down for quite a long time now and have been able to increase my stack from a mere 3500 to a current count of 7600+ to reach 10k total Hive Power before the end of this year. Not only I have been collecting Hive and SPS but I am also gathering those juicy soul-bound reward cards as well and as of now, I have upgraded some of my cards to max level already which is serving me very well in matches. Playing in the high league such as Diamond or Champion does help to get more of those cards as you often get multiple cards from single reward chests and as I used to play in Diamond league as usual, I think that is the reason my soul-bound cards stack have been increasing nicely in the background. However, this season I have brought some changes in my playing strategy and instead of playing in the Diamond league, I decided to ladder up to Champion this season and already reached near Champion II tier. My SPS earnings on ranked match wins have also increased by a little bit as whereas I used to get around 4 SPS in Diamond League, now I am getting around 7-8 SPS per win which is almost double. But, like I said or rather ranted in my previous blogs champion players are the ones looting the SPS reward pool with 11-12 SPS per win as I noticed while getting matches against them in precious seasons, I forget to count about the staked SPS part and simply thought that I can also win such amount if I climb up and start playing in Champ. Yes, I am earning more now but wish I had a bigger stack of staked SPS in my account, then I would have won more SPS from playing than the amount I am getting now.

As I told above, I am so close to accumulating another 10k into my SPS treasure chest to make it 110k, and currently, I have exactly 109,501.85 SPS in my staked account. I have accumulating SPS since the airdrop started over a year back and have been able to reach such a great number without externally pouring money into this token. No doubt, my card collection and playing regularly are helping me a lot to gather SPS daily. Staked rewards also play a vital role here and as you can see right now, Staking SPS gives sweet rewards on 15.15% APR and the rewards are in the form of Liquid SPS mad vouchers. Though I re-stake all my SPS back into my treasure wallet, I often sell my vouchers to raise money for renting fees or other stuff. Yes, at my level, renting is important because I can not have all these cards bought into my collection but some of them are too good and can’t be missed, especially when playing tournaments, brawls, or the season end bloody war. I was not into renting and used to rely only on my owned cards to perform in this game, but in the last 2 or 3 months, I have started renting and using some of the important ones that I miss in my collection, and no doubt the results and earnings are much better now.

Right now, SPS has come back almost near its all-time low value again and is being traded for 0.017 per unit only. It touched its all-time low value a while back at 0.016 and from there, it was slowly but steadily moving upwards and even reached 0.024 per unit which was its recent highest point. But good things don’t last long I guess and that is what happening right now with its price. Apart from the current downtrend, one more possible reason for SPS to Continue losing its price may be the upcoming Land update as land owners will need a lot of DEC to invest in their lands to run them at full capacity and begin earning. So who knows if some big splinterlands whales are right now un-staking and selling a portion of their SPS to buy DEC with it? Anyways, this poor mango has only 1 land and that is also a common edition, so I am not worrying about it and rather thinking right now to try to get some money from here and there to buy a chunk of SPS and stake them into my account. Not only it will help me to generate more staking rewards but also the earnings from ranked playing by increasing my Boost further.
