What’s up my fellow splinterlands players!

I guess all of you are enjoying a pleasant day with your family and friends and also enjoying this awesome strategic play2earn game in the meantime. Talking about me, I also took a little break from city life and enjoyed a 2 days vacation in my hometown with my brother and parents and am now back in my city flat. While I really enjoyed the old vibe in these 2 days, especially with my brother and also cheered him up as he just got a job in a decent production company. We enjoyed a small party at home last night and today we followed our own path where she went to his work life and I came to the city. On the other hand, a fresh new season has also started though it only feels like we have finished the last season only just now, we have already spent 6 days in this new season and already going towards its end with only 8 more days in hand. So, for those who are still playing casually, the time has come to buckle up my friends and prepare for the upcoming battle. For me, I have started playing with full force already and right now and came into the Diamond I tier already. I am also focusing on my season chest count right now and collected a total reward of 43 chests already and having 9 more days in hand, I am quite sure I will make it to 100+ season chests for this time as well. However, I failed to reach the top 3 positions in the diamond leaderboard in the last season and only secured the 9th place, so this season I will be more serious about my rank as well.

CLOCKWORK AIDE

Now, battling in these high tiers is not an easy task and it tests both your card collection and your gameplay skills. And players know that not only the old existing cards, but the newly added soul-bound reward cards have also become important in this game and nowadays I come across many matches where players are even winning against all max cards while using non-max reward cards, yes the newly launched reward card-set is that much strong and in this post, I will be talking about one such reward card, Clockwork Aide.

Does it make you recall the Miss Minutes iconic clock-looking fictional characters from the episodes of Marvel's Loki series? Anyways, Clockwork Aide is one of the soul-bound type cards that recently got launched with the newest edition reward cards and at this point, the players can only have them by pulling them from daily focus and season reward chests. This monster belongs to the Neutral splinter and its card type is Epic. It costs 4 mana to be used in battles and unlike most of the other monster cards, it does not hold any attack power. Let us now take a further look at its league-wise stats and abilities below.

Bronze

At level 2, this card possesses 1 speed at 8 armour and 1 health and it also gets the Swift ability since its initial level. Though it has only 2 health, the fat armour on its back will protect it from multiple melee and ranged attacks while it gives all friendly monsters +1 speed.

Silver

When you upgrade this monster at level 3, this gets 1 speed at 9 armour and 2 health and the same Swift ability. It does not get any new ability at 3rd level but gets 2 more armour on its back.

Gold

When this monster gets upgraded to Level 4, it gets the same stats as of level 2 and reduces its armour from 9 back to 8. But, this comes along with a new ability Rust. Now all enemy monsters will lose 2 armours because of this ability.

Diamond / Champ

At the last stage of upgradation, this card possesses 1 speed at 9 armour with 1 health along with 3 abilities - Swift, Rust and Strengthen. At max level, this card really becomes a speed beast and helps your whole lineup with swift and strengthen abilities while troubling the enemy monsters with rust.

Battle Link - Click Here

mana Cap: 36

Splinters allowed: Water, Earth, Life and Death.

Ruleset:

Aimless - All monsters have scattershot ability in this match.

Aimtrue - All attacks hit their targets.

Earthquake - Non-flying monsters will receive 2 damage at start of every round from the 2nd round onwards.

Battle Lineup

Well, it was a ranked match with a 36 mana limit and 3 applied rules - Aimless, AirTrue and Earthquake. Only 4 splinters were allowed to be used in this match - Water, Earth, Life and Death. I decided to choose the Lux Vega summoner in this match to get the increased stats it provides to my monsters. I choose Baakjira at my front place followed by clockwork aide, Mirdhampir, Gargoya Devil, Tower Griffin and Supply Runner at the last place of my lineup. As the match got revealed, I found out that my opponent has used the Life summoner General Sloan against me and he chose a mix of melee, ranged and magic monster starting from Chaos Knight at his front position, followed by Ureaus, Time Mage, Supply Runner, Djinn Renova and Pelacor Arbalest at the last position.

Round 1

image.png

As the match started, all the mobsters started attacking with scatter less ability and randomly started attacking enemy monsters but, as I used 3 entities with the swift ability (lux, clock and runner), all my 4 attacking monsters were having more speed than the enemy monsters, which was giving me an upper hand to attack before them. But though I got successful in damaging 3 monsters, the opponent killed one of my soldiers - supply runner first round.

Round 2

image.png

I was just digesting the death of one of my speed soldiers Supply runner but soon the enemy Time Mage took down one more card from me - the poor Clock card. But it was only providing me speed and wasn't able to attack so I was happy that the rest attackers were still alive where the opponent has lost 1 attack turn in the clock. Finally, at the end of the second round, my Devil killed the wounded Dijjin Renova and gave me a positive vibe.

Round 3

image.png

In round 3, most of our monsters were wounded and this round would determine who is going to win this match. Anyways, my Tower griffin worked great in this round and helped me to kill down the enemy Time Mage. After it died, immediately after, my monsters got back their armours and the lineup suddenly become more defensive. My devil also performed well and killed down the wounded Uraeus. In this round, I didn't lose a single monster but my opponent lost 2 and looking at the lineup, I was getting a gold feeling that I will win this match.

Round 4

image.png

At the beginning of round 4, the opponent had only 3 monsters alive while I was 4 of my soldiers still alive and ready to fight. However, as soon the round started, the enemy supply runner got dead. My devil worked just great in this round as well and killed down the Pelacor Arbalest. In the next round, the only alive enemy was the Chaos Knight but my monsters also took good care of it and I finally, win the match.

Conclusion

Though the Clockwork Aide is not a attacker card, it did help by providing all my friendly monsters with 1 extra speed and also with its high amount of armour, it becomes a great card to use against melee and ranged monster cards. My Aide card is only level 3 at the moment and when I upgrade it to max level, I am pretty sure I will be using this card more often in my matches.

Great post and great battle. I love Clockwork Aide card, I use it regulary in weak magic or no magic rulesets.

Never really know how to properly utilize the Clockwork Aide, but that is also because I have it at level 3. Just one more level to go before it obtain the Rust ability, so I'm sure that will really be useful when it happens! 😁

The only scenario that I could think of using it is during these rulesets:
REVERSE SPEED
WEAK MAGIC
EQUALIZER
