What’s up my fellow warriors!

I hope you all are enjoying the ongoing splinterlands season very well and while there’s still 5 days left for the season to end, I think it’s better go play and collect Some more trophies before the actual bloodbath starts during the last 2 days. For me, I am playing in Champ II and only a handful of trophies away from reaching the top tier C1 right now. But gladly, I have been able to collect a handsome amount of season chests this time already. I am With a current count of 67 season chests and with another 5 days in hand, I will try my best to collect another 13, making it a massive 80. Now, Can I expect better better quality of SPS pouches from those shiny looking champ level seasonal chests because since the season started, I have been only getting chests with single or rarely a 2 digit SPS count, even when I am playing in Champ II. So, this time with even more of those champ chests with me, let me cross my fingers and pray for some magic .

Introduction of 3 rulesets in battles

However, playing in top 2 Tiers - Champion and Diamond is very hard and needs not only a good collection of cards but also a good skillset and strategy making approach which comes slowly as you keep playing and learning. The game also constantly changing it’s play style little by little with in-game updates so that the gameplay system stays dynamic and interesting. Some times they add a new bunch of cards or some times they introduce new rules and limits to the game. Just like, with a recent update, the team introduce us to play with not 1 or 2 anymore, but also with 3 rulesets now! If you are playing in gold or above tiers, most probably you are sometime getting matches with 3 different rulesets and the higher you are in those tiers, the more chance that you are about to get to play those. Now, we were all used to play with either one or two ruleset for like eternity, but now with this drastic change in the ruleset, it has suddenly become more tricky to play and win battles in this game. So, today in this post, I will be showcasing one battle with 3 ruleset applied and how I arranged my lineup respecting all the rules and limits.

BATTLE LINK

LINEUP STRATEGY

So, it was a ranked match in champion league with a mana limit of only 15 and there were 3 rulesets applied - Healed Out, Thorns and Magic Reflect and only 3 splinters were allowed in this battles to be used - Fire, Earth and Life. Now, for low mana limit matches, I prefer to use either Earth or Life cards but in this case, 2 of those rulesets were purely anti for melee and magic monsters, so If I use melee or magic monster in this battle, they will be getting return damage every time they attack an enemy card. Moreover, because of the Healed out ruleset, healer monsters are useless in this battle as well, I had to think for a time on how to apply a good strategy and create a well built lineup here.

image.png

LUX VEGA

However, I finally chose to use the Earth splinter in this battle and chose the LUX VEGA as my summoner. Since only range monsters can freely attack in this match without getting return hits, it should be wise to protect my lineup with a layer of shield and health while increasing their speed also and that’s why I chose this summoner.

image.png

FAILED SUMMONER

I chose the Failed Summoner at the first place of my lineup cause for only 2 mana cost, it provide so much for a tank card and in this particular match, it will be mainly helping me with it’s fat health as tank while reducing the melee power of enemy cards and increasing my friendly Monsters health.

image.png

VENATOR KINJO

Just beside it, I placed the Venator Kinjo card because with it’s amplify ability, it will increase all damages to enemy monsters by +1 and will be very helpful here because there will be thorns and magic reflect applied to every monster here.

image.png

IZA THE FANGED

Now it was time to chose attacking cards and for this match, I decided to select range cards that doesn’t attack the front card, just to avoid hitting the enemy tank and kill the attackers cards first. Thus at the third place, I chose the Iza the Fanged mainly because of it’s sneak ability.

image.png

ACID SHOOTER

Applying the same strategy, I chose the Acid Shooter as my second attacking card because I had only 2 mana left in my hand and it was the best choice considering the situation. But don't go wrong and think of it as a weak card because with scattershot and poison, it can kill down multiple enemies alone.

image.png

FUNGUS FIEND

I filled the fifth place by place the Fungus Fiend because it costs no mana to be used in battles and left the sixth place vacant. But this card will also be beneficial to use here because first, it will save my backline and also reduce the enemy card’s speed with it’s slow ability.

Match Analysis

As the match started, my opponent’s lineup also got revealed and I find out that he is also using the LIX VEGA against me and at front he chose the Chaos Agent as his front defence followed by Ventaro Kinjo, Fungus Field, Acid Shooter, Doctor Blight and Mycelic Morphoid at the last place. With first glance, I got a little sad cause my opponent managed to fill all his 6 places while I left the sixth Place vacant. But his Doctor Blight card will getting heavy return damage so I was still hopeful.

ROUND 1

As the first round of the match begins, my Iza attacked the Morphoid and my Shooter attacked the Agent and successfully removed armours from both of them. The enemy Doctor also got reverse damaged by magic reflect and lost 2 health, but no monster died in this round.

image.png

ROUND 2

At the second round, my Iza damaged the morphoid again and this time she also stunned it. My acid shooter targeted the enemy acid shooter and broke it’s armour smoothly. But my fungus got wounded as well and only stayed alive with just 1 health while my front defence the failed still standing with 6 health. But the enemy Blight got heavily wounded in this round and remained with only 1 health and as no monster still died, he didn’t gain any max health also.

image.png

ROUND 3

As the third round begins, my Iza lunched it’s attacked the first and finally killed down the enemy Morphoid. But it’s been wasting it’s attack on a useless monster till now. Next, the enemy shooter targeted my Iza this time and broke her shield. My own shooter then launched it’s attack upon the enemy Chaos Agent but missed and got return damage through backfire and finally, thou the Doctor gained 1 heath after the Morphoid got died, but it got heavy damage in return again with magic reflect and finally got dead at the end.

image.png

ROUND 4

My legendary Iza finally did something useful by hitting the enemy shooter and brought down it’s health to 2. My Acid Shooter targeted the Chaos Agent this time also but it didn’t miss this time and wounded the chaos agent and also applied poison upon it and leaving with only 2 health.

image.png

ROUND 5

Thanks to my front defence Failed summoner who gave the best service here and protected the front gate upto fifth round. But it was already wounded and poisoned along the way so with another poison effect, it died at the beginning of round 5. But gladly, the enemy chaos agent was also poisoned and it also died at the beginning on both of the teams lost their front defence here. But my monsters were all ready this time and first Iza launched its deadly attack and killed the enemy acid shooter followed by my shooter which broke the enemy fungus’s shield down while both the Kinjos attacked each other and the round ended here.

image.png

ROUND 6

At this point the opponent has lost all the attacking card while I was still having both of my rangers alive. My Iza bad increased it’s max health with the Scavenger ability up to 8 now so, even my Kinjo would died, it Iza would perform as a good defence while the acid shooter kills the rest 2. However, it was done better than what I expected as my Iza first shoots and killed down the enemy fungus as soon as the 6th round started and the enemy Kinjo was the only enemy monster left alive. But it also got taken care of by my acid shooter and my Iza finally killed it down on next round and I won the match.

FINAL DISCUSSION

As for the match strategy, as it was a 3 ruleset match I didn't try to overthink and just made my lineup respecting the rules and mana limit. Melee and magic monsters were about to get a beating here already due to the ruleset so I focused on choosing ranged monsters in my attack strategy and as the ruleset was also blocking healing monsters, I didn't take any in my lineup. But, the opponent might think the same and can overplay me here by putting any monster with return fire at front to sabotage my archers. So I chose archers that focus on killing the rear or backline monsters first. This would also be weakening the enemy’s attacking power over time as my archers kill down one by one of it’s backline attackers and almost same happened in the gameplay as you can watch from the battle.

I hope you liked reading my analysis post of a 3 different ruleset in a single match. Do you also get 3 rulesets while playing battles and how you can handle them? Let me know in the comment below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.
