Let’s bring in new blood into the Splinterlands Eco System

As stake holders, we have a say in what goes on with Splinterlands, but talk is cheap unless some sort of action is taken. We at Team Philippines choose to take our own steps and not talk about it, it may feel insignificant for some, but even a little can help. The most important thing is to bring in new money into the Splinterlands Eco System, players and Community. I often read Mavs House and there are a lot of great ideas, unfortunately they are tainted by toxicity and sometimes not taken seriously, that is why I love our community at TeamPH, we have always steered true and in line with our mission statement.

We are always looking to increase the “Real Player” base and are aware that there are certain barriers of entry such as affordability of assets and in game restrictions such as the SPS staking requirements. Here in the Philippines even 10usd is a lot of money to spend, what more hundreds or even thousands of dollars. There is less availability of loans and leveraging here, which has its pros and cons. We at TeamPH look to create win/win opportunities.

I am an avid gamer and love Splinterlands, the comradery and competitive nature of the game drives me and with the investment opportunities, adds a cherry on top. I feel that I will be playing this for a very long time regardless of uncertainty.

I run a Restaurant and Bar called the Mango Lounge and Estates here in Calbayog and have a loyal consumer base of Expats that patronize my establishment. They are curious about Splinterlands as they have seen it taking up a lot my time, and I truly only have good things to say about it. This is, for me is an opportunity to get some new blood into the Eco System.

The Total cost of a Silver League, Chaos Legion and Rewards Cards would be 440 USD at this present time. What I would like to introduce to the Leaders of TeamPH the following initiative. It is allowing Community Members (Specifically those that are more leaning towards the investment side, Liquidity Pools, staking etc) to participate in purchasing a Silver Deck using TeamPH Tokens mimicking a Mortgage scheme, payable over 12 months at 0% interest. At this present time, Cards are at an affordable price, presenting a great opportunity to increase our player base as well as investors. Whilst I do not wish to force anyone to play the game, here at TeamPH, we have a large pool of players and potential scholars that would be happy to play at a 50/50 split. The advantages of introducing something like this are the following:

• NFT’s Purchased whilst supply is high presents more affordability.

• The Mortgage scheme is aimed to eradicate restraint on individuals by making monthly payments. It is apparent that “Dry Powder is limited” and people are skeptical as where to invest.

• Exposure to TeamPH Community Members increases Networking

• By having more decks available, it can assist TeamPH in Guild Brawls and present a passive earning opportunity for both investor and player.

• More players entering into our Eco System

• Paying it forward and assisting a Community remains a priority at TeamPH.

Potential Disadvantages

• It prevents scholars from accumulating their own assets

• ROI is unpredictable

• Funds could be redistributed into other areas that could potentially make more money

If this initiative was successful, I would not expect the DAO to release any funds in the creation of new decks, what could be an option is key individuals (such as myself) build silver decks and then sell it to the DAO for TeamPH Tokens. Once the TeamPH Tokens have been paid, TeamPH would then take on the mortgage and receive monthly payments in which we could put towards new initiatives when required.

Now for the Test

This is my friend “John” also known as @ninong7, through conversation, I introduced him to the HIVE ecosystem 3 months ago, in which he writes every day on peakd, has found other communities with similar ideals, and has actually made a decent ROI through his LP and HIVE rewards within a short period of time. He also has a small stake in TeamPH Tokens. He does not have a large monthly budget however he has seen the potential of the crypto space, and although his knowledge is limited, he surrounded by people who are always willing to help and has chosen to invest.

He will be the first person to take on a Splinterlands Deck on the mortgage program and I have found him a scholar already in the form of @arveno. How this would work is the cards would be delegated to @ninong7 and then the active key passed onto his scholar so that he could play immediately. The account would have the SPS requirements for a x10 multiplier to allow maximum opportunity.

John is not interested in playing the game himself, as he enjoys other games and writing, however is always willing to help people, we are always looking for investors that have the same advocacies that can radiate TeamPH’s Mantra of building stronger foundations and working together.

I am still in the process of building the deck, and am hoping to get it to him in time for the next season. I am excited to try this and to see what kind of ROI for all parties involved. We try to create a win / win scenario for everyone.

In summary, we at TeamPH strive continuously to improve the game / economy and eco system that we have chosen to love. If this works with John, I will be introducing others into this initiative, it is important that even during a Bear Market, we remain active, it has and always be the survival of the fittest. We are identifying new people to bring into the community as well as improve retention of those that have been here a while.
