Rebellion is the Key - Social Media Challenge

Hi there Splinterfam, welcome to this week’s entry of the Social Media Challenge. Most of us have been venturing into the rework of the Ranked System, it has been highly anticipated by some and dreaded by others, I always have kept an optimistic attitude and am “ Keeping Calm and Carrying on”. Am I enjoying the experience some may wonder? Well keep reading and we will look into that in due course.

Firstly let’s look into my progress in terms of the next airdrop card Kei. So far I have accumilated 388,450 CP which should guarantee me almost a max copy based on 250 raffles per BCX. I believe this card will be crucial for those that play ranked battles, and whilst I am not too concerned of the price for the card, the abilities for me ensure that I push further. I am currently ranked 87th on the Rebellion Leaderboard, I will be a bit further whilst I continue to push for a maxed out set.

Currently I still need $954.99 towards this set, whilst I feel this Rebellion is quite expensive, I can see that SPL have put in measures to ensure that the cards from the current set maintain a decent value. I have decided whilst I love to open packs, it is better to buy them on the market, when there is liquidity of course. Without Rebellion cards, I feel, as an actual player, you are at a massive disadvantage. I am exploring new metas using the different abilities such as Flank, Weapons Training and even Corrosive Shield and can see how dominating these abilities are when used appropriately. These are my current rentals, as you can see, I do not rent Rebellion Cards although the 2 Promos are a must for me to remain competitive. Eventually I wish to own all the cards therefore no more renting, but for now, this seems like the best option for me. I will continue to max out Rebellion First then I will obtain those listed above. I never that I would use Waka, however he has turned out to be a must have card especially whilst using Scatter Shot or Ambush Monsters. I never leave home without a scattershot monster these days, it has become the Meta especially when facing Grimbardun Smith.

I love spreadsheets and keep one specifically for the passive income and the in game rewards received. In my opinion, since the recent changes to ranked battles, I am earning more SPS that I would have been in the old system, even if my win rate is slightly lower, perhaps this needs the full season to balance out however I will report after a full season’s worth of data. Something that has changed is most definitely Tournaments. I can see that @clayboyn has done a lot of work and has revamped this section. This will most definitely get the players more involved.

I recently came 1st in one of the Rebellion Tourneys, what I have noticed is that not many people have maxed out the set yet, or perhaps those that have are not interested in this particular Tournament as the Prizes are quite low. I am using this to perfect Metas and have been improving week on week. I am hoping that there will be a bigger push on the Esports side of the Game.

So there are a lot of Tournaments available and guess what, they are now free to enter. We have the SPS DAO to thank for this. What's interesting is the entry requirements, if you don’t own a % of cards per set, you cannot enter. It is an additional requirement for access. I think this is brilliant, whilst I know a lot of my own community within TeamPH rent cards, I think that this is a great way to get people investing, especially whilst prices are still relatively low.

Look at those payouts, I really think that people can make quite a lot of SPS, just by competing in tournaments, I feel that players are being rewarded more for their efforts, and that makes me happy. I will say only enter those tournaments that you feel that you compete in, there is now a scarcity on key cards on the rental market and if you are not playing to win, perhaps don't bother, if you have cards that are under par, expect a thrashing, tourneys are not really for the faint hearted and with that much SPS up for grabs, I would believe that people are coming with their A game and maxed set based on league. I do hope that the SPS DAO is looking into potential Battle Helpers and Users of Multiple Accounts, this ruins the fun and the premise of healthy competition.

In summary, I am very happy with the changes, whilst it is more competitive and I am struggling to keep up, I have found myself buying more energy and expect a lot of chests at the end of this season. They have also introduced Vouchers in exchange for energy, I think this is brilliant, finally more utility!

I do believe that this particular game is evolving and turning into something more marketable and less of a niche. I appreciate the efforts of the Founders and of Course the SPS DAO. I do hope that these changes bring in more players.

I would like to thank you again for taking the time to read my update, any questions, please do not hesitate as to leave a comment. This is Mango Mayhem signing out, Ciao for now, I look forward to seeing you on the Battle Field
