Splinterlands Art Contest Week 214 -- Lira the Dark.

What's up my people, I hope you are very well and hopefully you are having a great Wednesday, today I bring you a very special drawing for my art blog because it is a fan-art that I made for the weekly contest of #Splinterlands; but what is special about this drawing is that I decided to do it entirely in (Krita) which is a very well known drawing program and has very good tools and brushes that I am encouraging me to discover and try a little.

The card chosen for my participation is none other than (Lira the Dark), I really liked this card a few weeks ago when I came across it because its design is very nice and striking; but after I started to find out more about it I realized that its history is also interesting because it is a kind of vampire who besides having a taste for human blood, also has great magical powers which she uses for her benefit and that of her kingdom:

¿Qué pasa mi gente como están?, espero que muy muy bien y ojalá estén pasando un excelente miércoles, el día de hoy les traigo un dibujo muy especial para mi blog de arte ya que se trata de un fan-art que realice para el concurso semanal de #Splinterlands; pero lo que tiene de especial este dibujo es que decidí hacerlo enteramente en (Krita) el cual es un programa de dibujo muy conocido y que cuenta con herramientas y pinceles muy buenos que me estoy animando a descubrir y probar un poco.

La carta elegida para mi participación no es otra que la de (Lira the Dark), me gusto mucho esta carta hace algunas semanas atrás cuando me encontré con ellas pues su diseño es muy bonito y llamativo; pero luego de que me puse a indagar más sobre ella me di cuenta de que su historia es demás de interesante pues se trata de una especie de vampiresa la cual además de tener gusto por la sangre humana, además posee grandes poderes mágicos los cuales utiliza para su beneficio y el de su reino:

PROCESS / PROCESO

Starting with this drawing was a little challenge since I'm very very new in the program (Krita) and I don't know the best brushes and I'm just adapting to them, but even so I put my best effort and I dedicated myself to build a character as I always do; I made a pose like half side where (Lira the Dark) in which we see the character admiring the great powers emanating from the palm of his hand. The color palette to paint was a bit more complicated to choose, so I just let my inspiration take me and looked for colors approximating what a vampire skin would look like.

Comenzar con este dibujo fue un pequeño reto ya que soy muy muy nuevo en el programa (Krita) y no conozco bien los mejores pinceles y apenas me voy adaptando a ellos, pero aun así puse mi mayor esfuerzo y me dedique a construir un personaje tal cual como lo hago siempre; realice una pose como de medio lado donde (Lira the Dark) en la que vemos al personaje admirando lo grandiosos de los poderes que emanan de la palma de su mano. La paleta de colores para pintar fue un poco mas complicada de elegir, así que solo me deje llevar por mi inspiración y busque colores aproximados a lo que seria una piel de vampira.

Some opaque tones served me as a first base for some parts of the drawing, I also decided to look for some dark tones, but with a tendency towards deep violet tones for what would be the clothing section; I was dedicating myself particularly to the skin first of all with airbrushes to define the shape and then with some planes. With the skin finished the next thing was to continue establishing a little personality to the face and the expression of (Lira the Dark), here I used many dark tones for the eyes and a little pink to paint some blush to the cheeks.

Algunos tonos opacos me sirvieron como primera base para algunas partes del dibujo, también decidí buscar algunos tonos oscuros, pero con tendencia hacia los tonos violetas profundos para lo que seria el apartado de la vestimenta; fui dedicándome particularmente a la piel primero que nada con pinceles aerógrafos para definir forma y luego con algunos planos. Con la piel terminado lo siguiente fue seguir estableciendo un poco de personalidad al rostro y la expresión de (Lira the Dark), aquí use muchos tonos oscuros para los ojos y un poco de rosa para pintar algo de rubor a las mejillas.

Once I finished with the skin and the face the next thing was the creation of the costume of our vampire, for this I decided to go a lot towards very purple or violet tones to print a little of my personal touch to this drawing, I created some lines of wrinkles and folds with a fine brush and then I added texture; some glitter was enough and I also tried to give a texture to what would be the sleeves of the dress. For the hair I did use some brushes like watercolor and airbrush to define a more or less smooth shape in this section.

Ya una vez logre terminar con la piel y el rostro lo siguiente fue la creación del traje de nuestra vampiresa, para esto decidí irme mucho hacia tonos muy morados o violetas para imprimir un poco de mi toque personal a este dibujo, cree algunas líneas de arrugas y pliegues con un pincel fino y luego añadí textura; algunos brillos bastaron y además trate de darle una textura a lo que seria las mangas del vestido. Para el cabello si use algunos pinceles como la acuarela y el aerógrafo para definir una forma mas o menos suave en este apartado.

Finishing with the hair the next thing was the painting of the neck necklace of (Lira the Dark), for this I decided to use some rough brushes of Krita to get a metallic texture something old, but at the same time something shiny; I also took the opportunity to give many forms to the central gem of the necklace to which later I would give other special touches to make it stand out. I also finished with the rose that goes on the dress and for this I went to darker tones to differentiate it.

Terminando con el cabello lo siguiente fue el pintado del collar del cuello de (Lira the Dark), para esto decidí usar algunos pinceles rugosos de Krita para conseguir una textura metálica algo antigua, pero a la misma vez algo brillante; también aproveche de darle muchas formas a la gema central del collar a la cual más adelante le daría otros toques especiales para que resaltara. Terminé también con la rosa que va en el vestido y para esto me fui mas a tonos un poco más oscuros para diferenciar.

Already for the final part I thought it was a good time to give a little more sense to the theme of the character and my work, that's why first I dedicated myself to build a somewhat rough background with and then I created some kind of crisscrossed electric waves; then I was painting some other detail in the face with the help of the layer modes. And finally I created a new layer in lighten mode and created a kind of magical energy which springs from the palm of the hand of (Lira the Dark), and which she herself contemplates as if she could not believe all the immense power she possesses.

Ya para la parte final me parecía buen momento para darle un poco mas de sentido a la temática del personaje y de mi obra, es por ello que primero me dedique a construir un fondo algo rugoso con y luego cree algunas especies de ondas eléctricas entrecruzadas; luego fui pintando algún que otro detalle en el rostro con la ayuda de los modos de capa. Y ya por último cree una nueva capa en modo aclarar y cree una especie de energía mágica la cual brota desde la palma de la mano de (Lira the Dark), y la cual ella misma contempla como si no pudiera creer todo el inmenso poder que posee.

Well my people, this was all for this drawing, the truth is that I had a lot of fun using this program and I think that in the future I will use it a lot more; since it brings very interesting brushes and with great effects to which I will be able to take advantage of for more drawings of this style. Bueno mi gente, esto fue todo por este dibujo, la verdad me divertí mucho usando este programa y creo que en el futuro lo usare muchísimo más; ya que trae pinceles muy interesantes y con efectos geniales a los cuales les podre sacar mucho provecho para mas dibujos de este estilo.
