Hey Splinterfriends and family! Its me masterzarlyn28, Here is another entry for Splinterlands Fan Art Challenge! Hooray! Im happy to share with you my process on how I draw this character. I really like the result of my drawing for this week. I feel like my drawing practice is slowly bearing fruit. But before I show you my art and how I made it, let me give you a short background first about the character I drew for the Splinterlands weekly art contest for this week.

So, the character I chose to draw is Goblin Chef. When I was browsing through characters to draw, I was delighted by him, so he’s the one I decided to draw.

Goblin Chief is an Earth Element Unit with a range attack. He looks a bit comical, which is why I chose him.

The first thing I did was draw an outline. Since he’s chubby and round because of his fats, I only used a few circle shapes and I formed him.

Goblin Chief is a common earth ranged monster under the Beta or Promo Edition.

Step by step Process

The first thing I did was draw an outline. Since he’s chubby and round because of his fats, I only used a few circle shapes and I formed him.

Once I got my desired sketch, I darkened the outline and started blocking shadows.

After finishing the outline, I proceeded to coloring. The only color change I made was to his apron; I thought it would be boring if it were just white, so I made it gray.

After applying the initial colors, I just added shade using a darker tone. I didn’t put highlights because I was quite happy with the color result.

The Finished Product

My favorite part was drawing the green slimy food. I like its color, neon green, which means the food is toxic. Hahaha!

Once everything was done, I just added a Japanese background pattern using the Japanese pattern filter.

I adjusted the hue until I found the desired color that I think complements the character’s color.

I hope you enjoy my art work! Its good to be back. Thank you so much! See you in my next blog :)
