Opening last season rewards and getting back to Splinterlands

So with NFT and play-to-earn games in full swing and me recently returning to Hive I dusted off my old Splinterlands account and boy there have been a lot of changes!

First of all was I saw airdrops and staking on SPS! It was awesome finding I was eligible for an aidrop and I promptly staked it.

Next was card rentals. It may have been there before and I have not noticed it but it was a great way to make use of some cards that I don't use in some of my rotations.

I was a bit late but I played some games and tried to up my ranking to at least bronze II as I saw that now DEC could only be captured on that level and up.

My deck is far from decent and is mostly made up of Alpha and Beta cards so it was also good that by default the game provided some free cards that could be used in battles but technically you didn't own.

This made it somehow a bit easier if you didn't have a lot of cards and summoners.

So opening 7 chests for last season rewards I was given 4 new cards! A couple of Peacor cards and a Gargoya Lion.

So hoping to get more DECS, more decks (pun intended lol) and rise up the ranks.

I might also try my hand on the tournaments once I get more decent cards.
