Bots or No Bots in Modern
There are a lot of discussions going around with regards to Splinterlands implementations of boycotting bots from partaking in modern leagues. Question I have is will it be a good or bad thing from not having bots?
In the Early Stages
A few years ago when I started playing Splinterlands one of the challenges players had was being able to find an opponent to play with. Although even back then the game was running 24/7 there would be times where not enough opponents were joining and many times I had to wait a lot longer than usual to get my battles in.
Then came bot accounts to fill in the rolls where players were not available. This made daily battles a lot easier to access.
As Splinterlands gain popularity there were enough real players to play more often than not and this void where bots filled in did not seem necessary.
League Gaps
Even then with more players involved there were some who gamed the reward system by playing decks at specific leagues. This cause a lot of unfair distribution of rewards to players who simply had bot accounts playing in bronze while real players struggle to find opponents or better yet earn reasonable rewards on an individual basis.
The distribution of rewards were than adjusted and new rules and requirements were set in place to limit players from using multiple accounts to game the rewards.
Now At Present
Although I am skipping on a lot of details at the present moment proposal of boycotting bots in modern leagues has been approved and in the near future Splinterlands will try to implement ways to stop bots from playing.
How this will go no one can really predict. The updates and revisions to reward distributions took years to accomplish and even today still changing.
I am not here to give an opinion on whether bots are good or not but state the not so obvious here. Whether bots can be eliminated or not will take a lot of time and effort. Players will have to adjust and likely make future proposals that will guild the developers into what will become a better game. No matter what happens I have faith that the developers will be able to guide the ship to prosperity. They have done so for years and I am betting they will continue the success in the years to come.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!
I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:
It's a controversial topic and I understand both sides of it. I just don't really know because there are advantages and disadvantages too. I wonder if it will increase the reward pool in modern though.

Time will tell but either way I’ll be still playing !LOL !WINE
I'm happy they are giving this a try and that it will only affect Modern format. Anyone who bots can still do so in Wild and if the results are bad we just go back to where we were before. It's a win-win situation that will appease the community's proposal and vote.
It certainly a path to be taken. Time will tell how it plays out. This also gave me the idea why not just have a league format where bots are allowed but rewards are reduced? !WINE
Thx for the Wine! My hope is this will just be a test and will lead to future formats where you have something that is fully decentralized (bots allowed) and something that is more controlled and human friendly. If they can successfully figure out a way to stop bots, that opens a huge door to create new formats and game modes that are added ON TOP of the current system rather than dividing it as they are planning to do now.
Bots system should be completely scrapped it's loosing people's trust if they don't we will see many more people stop playing it the way people stopped playing it before.
