I have been too focused on land to be on top with the new Rebellion cards. Yet I am now facing off opponents that are using the new cards and am having trouble competing. One of those abilities that is very fascinating to me is ambush.

The interesting part is that it allows the player to execute a turn for specific monsters before the match rounds begin.

Akane

The summoner with ambush is Akane. Player can select up to two monsters with ambush and they get to attack prior to round one. Imagine if the monster have double strike and or have massive high attack stat. They basically can knock out opponents before the match even begins.

As a dragon summoner there are definitely a lot of melee attacking combos that can be setup with Akane.

Monsters With Ambush

Having a whole formation with ambush basically means player gets to attack before the match even begins. I ponder if both players have ambush will speed trump who goes first?

Future Abilities?

A whole new idea is at play here with attacks that are applied prior to battle. I can imagine in the future there will be abilities that extend the matches. Like an ability to nullify ambush? Maybe an ability to deflect attacks with ambush prior to round one.
