Should Old Abilities get upgrades?

Ever since rebellion rolled out moxian rebel I have been addicted to weapons training. The whole zero stats in attacks monsters are now much more intriguing to use.

The best part of the weapons training ability is that after effects have been executed even if the card is knocked out the effects remain. Here is the before and after weapons training is activated.

The additional 1 magic attack for both Cube and Helmet Khalafax is a definite boost. Then if Moxian is knocked out the magic attacks remain.

I then ponder what if past abilities that provided boosts actually stayed with the monster is acceptable? The fact here is when it’s an attack stats transfer the stats remain through the battle. Meanwhile toughness and health are lost right when monster with ability is knocked out. But why?

Abilities like protect and strengthen do not carry over once the monster with those abilities gets knocked out.

I think there could be some review of existing abilities and potential changes to them when we consider newer abilities. I hate to see old abilities be overshadowed by the latter.

Consider the example I just gave it seems the attack stats remaining gets carried over. Meanwhile other boosts do not.
