Splinterlands' Rebellion Boom!
It has been over 24 hours since the news of Rebellion has rolled out. From the Townhall to the blog post regarding the latest info on the upcoming latest new set of cards I decided to finally post about it. With good reason :)
While I was watching the Townhall and when I heard the news that Vouchers and DEC were to be used for pack purchases I immediately went in the open market to snatch what I could with the liquid Hive that I had. These are those days why we hold liquidity. Within less than a few hours the price of DEC and Voucher boomed!
For those who do not follow Splinterlands or sparingly they may not know is that when news of special promo or new sales are to happen there is always some form of supply and demand shock in the current markets. The delay in response could cost someone a few dollars just for not being early.
I did not want to post about the Rebellion news and lose an edge on this and instead just went on my marry way to play the game and discuss other things I was thinking related to Splinterlands. Meanwhile on the side I did what I could to capitalize on the latest news.
I went and purchase close to 70k DEC and have not relinquished the assets back into swap.hive. I basically increase my stash by close to 20% yield overnight. Although I could have went and spent the DEC to buy more Chaos cards, as prices of cards have fallen, I did not. Instead I converted back to swap.hive as I still want to have the opportunity to decide what to do with the profits.
Long story short I do not trade very well but when it comes to Splinterlands news its quite easy to figure out. This is the reason why I try my best to stay up to date with current events in the realm as any boom can happen momentarily. I have my fair share of misses and bought too high and sold for a lost. Yet for today I was on the positive side as I cashed in on the initial boom. Whether it can continue higher won't bother me as much as I believe I caught the majority of the upswing. It remains to be seen how much demand for the new cards will be but all signs are positive.

Good job on the trade. I didn't bother but it does look like a lot of people were able to capitalize on the opportunity. I just don't think I want Rebellion so early though.
