Splinterlands The Forgotten Vouchers?

Today while I was looking through my asset collection there was something I noticed I have accumulated a ton of but yet remain stagnant. The vouchers that we earn daily from staked sps it appears I have now accumulated quite a bit of it but have no real use for it.

In the past the token was expected to be temporary but when it become permanent players started to hoard them. Then come some sparingly special card sales and pack releases that required voucher or allow the use of voucher for further discounts. Now that the developers are mainly focused on land there has been little to no focus on what vouchers could bring to the table.

The price of voucher has been on a downtrend for months and its not a surprise since there is little to no use for them. Yet I wonder if I should be holding my vouchers for future use or sell them for a small profit? I could use the proceeds to purchase more cards to better enhance my formation. On the flip side what if new sales of Splinterlands assets would require vouchers and then that would raise its value making it wiser to hold.

There is a staggering 16.6 million vouchers ever created, but note a majority is held locked up or utilized hence the real amount of vouchers in circulation are a lot less. Still it is worth wondering how much of a demand or even just use for the vouchers will be in the future?

From reading my post it would appear my preference is to hold onto my vouchers. I have seen when the asset is in use that there is immediate demand for the token making its prices rise dramatically. Whether that is temporary of lasting weeks and months I personally feel such a risk to hold is better opportunity than to trade it in for another asset. There is not much growing in value within Splinterlands or outside in the crypto space. I prefer to just hold on to the vouchers and see what value they could bring in the near future.

I believe once land comes out and players are actively playing then the developers will focus on other assets of the game including voucher. So in a way this maybe a good time to accumulate more of the assets as their values maybe low due to low demand.

Although I feel I have a decent amount of vouchers it appears I only rank in the top 3000 in holders. There are a lot more players with plenty of vouchers left to utilize too. It certainly is interesting to await for what is in store for such a token.

Can it be a special promotion card that will become available to players to purchase just like previous sales? Could it be a use in the land 1.5 expansion? Or better yet could there be a use for it in future pack sales?
