Splinterlands Art Contest: Week 252 - Ever-Hungry Skull

Hi all, greetings!

This week, I decided to take part in this challenge after a while of being off. So today, I bring you another entry to the @Splinterlands contest week 252 and I chose "EVER-HUNGRY SKULL" as my character/card to work on.

I needed some source of inspiration so I browsed through pinterest and and looked at the main one from Splinterlands before coming but with this one.

This skull is strange. It has a disdain look from its two eyes with lots of nails affixed on it. There is this long one that passed through one part of its ear section to other side with a few blood stain.

I just wanted it to look fearful so I introduced red to it instead of dark blue. I also gave the background a black and red effect while giving a section faint which shows where light is coming from.

At a later stage, after the outline, I decided to add another broken section above the forehead. Some broken sections gave rise to a heart and a cross sigh at the forehead.

The work was done with AutoDesk sketchbook application and aided with an S-pen. My step by step processes are below:

The first step was to make the outline sketch

Then, I started adding shades

I processed with the shades by using scribble method

Here, I was almost done

At this stage, I introduced color. Firstly, I worked on the background. I made the left side darker thank the right side thus giving rise to negative space

At this stage, I introduced those danger colors to the eyes and other parts

And here is the final result

This skull is looking very strange in which there are nails all around. But there are also eyes in the skull which are looking at these things, this very beautiful picture describes them.
