Also I agree with your viewpoint. Going up within a tier (Silver III to Silver II or even Silver I) isn't a huge bump in difficulty. EXCEPT at the beginning of season where its a huge pain.

Moving from Silver to Gold...big jump in difficulty.

Gold to Diamond... Really big jump

Diamond to Champion... No idea :) Haven't made it there yet
