The Even Stevens ruleset dictates that only monsters with even mana costs are allowed to be selected for battle, except for summoners. There are more than 280+ monsters in splinterlands that have an even mana cost, and in that lies the challenge with this ruleset; how you have constructed your splinterlands collection. Research which are strong cards for this ruleset -> some OP even mana cost cards include monsters like Cerberus, Djinn Oshannus, Shieldbearer, Chaos Dragon etc. Both teams will have a limited available of monsters and therefore you make the best with what you have, so have some counterattack abilities like Magic Reflect and damage reduction abilities like Shield and Void. Then determine, how you going to deal damage. Do not overthink this one - keep it simple.

Without a doubt, the true MVP of this battle was Possibilus the Wise. The Reach and Trample ability was too much for the opposition to deal with and multiple during the battle the Trample ability was triggered thanks to Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry hitting with so much ferocity. The rest of the line-up was there to merely aid and support through speed and melee damage buffs and chip in here and therefore with some damage. And even when both Diemonshark and Coastal Sentry perished, Baakjira and Deeplurker were waiting in the lurches to finish off the opposition and secure a satisfying victory.

Do You Like the Even Stevens Ruleset? Why or Why Not?

For some, this ruleset will absolutely suck and for others, it will be a perfect hunting ground. Therefore, your mileage may vary with this ruleset as it purely is dependent on how you have constructed your splinterlands collection. If you have found your collection is more titled to have odd mana-cost cards, well then you gonna have a bad time! Nonetheless, if you have been playing splinterlands long enough -- you will have some familiarity with strong even mana-cost cards and you should at least try to have some of these cards in your collection. "I don't have money to buy more cards" -- yep, I hear you and for those that fall into this category, I can only say -- keep it simple and play with the cards that you have available and try to construct a strategy that focuses on tanks that can reduce damage (Shield and Void abilities) and then backline that can deal damage.
