Nice pull on Focus Chests in Bronze this morning
So my focus chest in Splinterlands was the Life Splinter. I struggled for awhile but adapted my strategy. I added Furious Chicken and Soul Fiend to my deck.
This seemed to give me enough boost to win when the mana count was low. For high mana count, I switched to General Sloan and played a heavy range attack with Venari Crystalsmith as a healing card.
So what about the excellent focus chests results this morning?
Merdhampir is of great value, but it's a fun card. And then there's Djinn Biljka. That's a $1.40 card that usually brings in 5 DEC a day on the rental market. I am pleased with the potions also. I have 52 packs to open soon as part of a contest, so I am stacking up those potions.
What are your thoughts? Are the new rewards a good thing? I am playing lots more often especially since the rental market has taken such a big hit.

What is focus chests?
Great question. Focus chests are from the Daily Focus. The Daily Focus used to be the daily quest. Except now, the more you play in a day the more daily chests you can earn.
See the right hand red arrows. My current focus is Fire splinter. I haven't played any today so I have not earned toward the chest. Depending on what cards I play that I own and the types of cards, I earn points toward the focus chest. I usually average 60 points per win, but with a good streak, I might receive 150 points per win. In 24 hours, I can generate 5 to 10 focus chests in about 1 hour of playing time. Focus chests are available each day to be opened.
In addition to focus chests, the daily focus also earns points toward the season chests. Season chests can't be opened until the end of the season, I think. See the left hand side with red arrows. Those are my season chests, and all wins, including the focus wins count toward season chests. Currently, I have 36 chests for the season.
Do you have to be outside of bronze/novice in order for these chests to have anything in them besides potions and credits?

There's a cap on the number of chests that can be earned per day and per season, but I am pretty pleased with the number of chests that I have been able to earn so far this season. The changes really are better for players, but probably not for bot makers and card investors.
The cards are decent but the DEC rewards seem pretty low.
