Love vs. Hate on the splinterlands Battle Field

Some Splinterlands Cards are "make-or-break" for most people.

• When you have them, you love them.
• When you don't have them, you hate them.

I had an epic battle this morning:

Djinn Oshannus >>||<< Lord Arianthus & Ruler of the Seas

Why you ask, is this battle outstanding?

That's a good question. Let's watch the battle fold out, and you will soon see what makes it special.

The starting line-up looks like this, it's quite scary what with a total of 19 Magic damage on my non-magic resistant frontline. How in the world are they not going to just cut through me like butter on a hot summer day?

I am up against Lord Arianthus, the Ruler of the Seas and, a bunch of magical heavy-hitters, making the collected damage output look very nasty.

Well, take a look:

The big secret, the savior of the day was definitely Djinn Oshannus. He truly is the Master of Magic, and an indispensable card to have in your portfolio.

Luckily for all, it's a potentially free card in that occasionally it's rewarded from the daily quest.

Myself, I actually got really lucky a few weeks ago, and by mere chance got rewarded this Gold Foil, Djinn Oshannus. Now, Gold Foil is not a necessity - as you can see in the Battle - it just pays a little better 🤑😁

And now for the walk-through:

  1. Because of my Speed Focus, I started heavy and got the first kill, getting rid of my mutch-hated arch-enemy Lord Arianthus (that I sadly do not possess, and therefore hate with a passion).

"The Lord" even got revived, but in the end, that was to no avail as I had the speed to heavy-hit him back to the fields of Valhalla.

  2. Time to get wiped... I now lost my entire non-magical resistant tank consisting of the Diemonshark and the Flying Squid.

  3. Time to be scared... I was facing off 19 magical damage in five cards against my measly 12 mixed damage in four cards... How could I possibly get out alive and victorious from this sinister battle outlook?

well, look to the savior of the day. My main man, Oshannus, did it again.

He crippled their damage with "Void" and avoided what damage that came with "Phase" and high Speed.

The remainder of the battle was just a bad-ass show of force by "The Djinn". Oshannus made the opponent miss completely at least five times. Missing magical damage is a major deal.
