Roughly four days ago I announced a giveaway for a Splinterlands Voucher. Initially I was going to run the Voucher giveaway for seven days before announcing a winner. Today I realized that General Sale 1.0 will soon be ending. In fact General Sale ends in just 1.5 days from this announcement post creation. Since I want to get the winner their Voucher before General Sale 1.0 ends I will be shortening the entry time and announcing the giveaway winner below in this post. There has only been one entry in the last 24hours+ so its likely we wouldn't of gotten any new enteries anyways. Click anywhere on this highlighted area to go to the original giveaway post..

Random Voucher Ramblings

Before we get to announcing the winner lets take a look at the current prices of Vouchers. Currently Vouchers can be purchased for roughly $2.00 USD. When General Sale Phase One ends there will be a short break period afterwards General Sale Phase Two will start. General Sale Phase 2 will not require Vouchers for purchasing Chaos Legion Booster Packs. Instead Vouchers will be needed for any Bonus Packs one might be entitled to. For example Splinterlnads offers a 10% bonus on booster purchases that are 100 packs or more. If you would like to take advantage of that bonus you will need the Vouchers to do so. This would mean that one Voucher will equal the value of one bonus pack booster. To me that is equal to Vouchers having a max USD worth of $4.00 USD. So at todays price any bonus pack will be costing you $2.00 USD instead of the $4.00 USD that purchasing straight packs from Splinterlands will cost you. Of course that is talking in todays USD value of Vouchers which might not be the same in the not so distant future. That is enough ramblings, lets announce the Voucher Winner!

I thought you were confused between 'ends' and 'starts'
Now I see that you just conflated Phase II and General Sale while making no mention of when GS starts.
My bad.

Congratulations @banzafahra! What are your thoughts on where the price of vouchers is headed after General Sale starts? I'm kind of leaning towards they will stay around $2. But I can see them dropping to almost $0 if CL sells out in a few days.

That is a good question. HIVE and HIVE cryptocurrency assets USD worth have taken a beating the past couple weeks and I suspect that will have a negative impact on the sale of Chaos Legion Pack sales. The further the dip the less likely we have a quick CL sellout. This brings me to the assumption that Voucher prices (without another usecase) might become closer to $1 USD than $2 USD.

A further explaination as to why I think a drop in USD price is coming for Vouchers.

Today (at most) 20% of the available Pack supply do not need Vouchers (bonus packs). General Sale 2.0 flips the script on that and 20% (max) of the available supply of CL boosters will need Vouchers. That is an 80% difference that is not in the favor of Voucher price. Some of this is countered by the Voucher drop being lowered but I don't think it will be enough to sustains the USD value of Vouchers.

The only exception I see to the above is if Chaos Legion sells out quickly. The FOMO of missing out will keep Vouchers at a relatively higher USD price than a slow sale of CL would.
