So you're starting out as novice, finally made it to bronze, and realized that you're stuck there. Out of 15 battles that I had, I get to face 10 times of my most hated summoner - Mylor Crowling

In case you're wondering who that is, this is how he looks like :

And what made him so special (or some might say .. irritating)? He has the thorn ability to ALL their monster, i.e. any melee attacks that you deal to them, you'll get return fire of 2 dmg passively. To be honest, this is seriously painful especially if you're in a battle with a low mana pool (as most likely your monster will be of low health due to low mana cap). See ? IRRITATING.

So after tons of rounds, the best way that you could counter is to either use range monster, or magic monsters deck. At the start of the battle before preparing on which summoner to choose, you get a chance to look at your opponent last few battles, and if it's earth conservatively, most likely it's gonna be a Mylor, or Llama. But from my experience, I believe the lower rank of Novice, Bronze and Silver, most likely you'll be facing Mylor.

Here is an example of how I used arrow team to counter Mylor :

As you can see, most of the range that I choose are all 2 range attacks, and with the snipe ability, this will kill the lower health monster of the back quickly. And for the most important role of this battle, it will be your position 1 - tank. The tank I choose is the Haunted Spirit - reason being the low mana cost of 5 and the healing ability :

Next will be an example of how I used mana team to counter Mylor :

This time round, with Alric Stormbringer as my summoner, all of my magic attacks get +1 and the firepower is really incredible with this lineup. The most important role here is of course my Position 1 as well, and even though I don't own this card, I managed to score a cheap rental and am super please with it's performance! Let me introduce you to the king of defender of the sea - THE KRAKEN :

The level 1 stats are really incredible. 3 Armor, 14 Health, 4 Melee Attacks and 4 Speed. It comes along with the taunt ability, which forces all the monster in your opponent's deck to attack him first, so your higher damage back row magic caster can continue their artillery while this Kraken does it's job -- TANK

Last thing to add , if you really hated Mylor as much as me, so instead of hating him ..... join him. Pick a cheap Mylor as a rental and you'll be able to use him with your earth deck. Remember to pick up some of the earth monster as well to pair with him, it won't works if it's just Mylor without any other useful earth monster ! I do recommend finding cheap mana cost high health monster, since the thorn ability will be the main passive damage that will clear the enemy monster !

Remember, this game is all about guessing what your opponent will use, how would you counter them with what cards, so you need to know the different elements and their strong points. This way you will be able to face many types of opponent and hopefully can proceed the league to gold or diamond !
