First steps in Splinterlands, my experience so far | Part I | ENG/ESP
Hello friends of Hive!
This is my first post after a long time, the ideas had not been in my head and it was more complicated than I expected what it would be like to start creating a post for this great blockchain.
However, a couple of days ago I saw a friend play Splinterlands and I thought it was quite interesting and fun so I decided to try it.
My first day was somewhat frustrating, if I don't like something in life it's feeling silly, Splinterlands being the first NFT strategy game I tried, I couldn't understand almost anything, everything was confusing and I felt angry with myself. Things relaxed after reading a bit on HIVE, especially in this community where I publish, there are many tutorials from people who know more about the subject.
I understand that I shouldn't feel this frustrated, but I really hate losing and because I didn't understand I would do it very soon. (Spoiler: I understand much better now and I still lose a lot XD)
I think that KEYCHAIN is really a great tool, it allows you to access all these existing dApps in Hive in such a simple and fluid way, I have tried other wallets and I am liking this one a lot for its fluidity.
Before starting to play I decided to buy the spell book, from what I read, advancing without having it is quite complicated, once I bought it I realized the reason for it. You unlock many rewards and you can trade in the game, two essential things to advance.
Pay it through some HIVE that you buy on Binance, the amount with respect to the HIVE paid varies according to the price of the HIVE cryptocurrency, however, in dollars the amount to be paid is set at ten US dollars.
This was my first battle, I started with the summoner Kelya Frendul, which is curiously the one I use the most now that I have more experience.
Finally, after 5 straight losses where I didn't understand what I was doing, I finally achieved something good and the first victory came, thus being reflected in the HIVE blockchain the first victory of @nane15.
A little after losing many battles and winning few of them, I reached the "Bronze III" league only to hit the rookie wall, I stayed here for a long time until I understood that I had to buy good cards to increase my power and advance through of this game.
And so it was, after thinking a bit, and understanding more about NFTs, I bought my first card in Splinterlands which is called "Molten Ogre" according to the Lore we can see that it is an Ogre of incredible strength and with a thirst for blood without equal , rebellious to get to work, but fulfilled once he's on the battlefield.
My card collection is now like this, it's not much but soon there will be many more and I trust that with much more value.
A very nice card but one that cannot be played with in the “Modern Ranked” mode, after reading a little more I understood that this mode is limited to certain types of cards, understanding this I went to get some good cards to play.
I managed to put together several strategies based on Djinn Oshannus which is my favorite card so far. It has taken me all the way to Bronze II where I am still stuck because I need more strategies and a little more practice.
Whenever I pick these guys I feel like I can't lose.
Splinterlands is quite an entertaining game, despite the limitations that exist for video games on Blockchains. This collectible card game manages to turn what are normally tedious tasks, reading, researching and thinking into something enjoyable, it encourages you to improve and compete.
Being a healthy and even productive way to recreate, of course with patience, investment and enough time. This is what in a few days I have been able to conclude. Later I will write another post where I talk a little more about what happened in these first days of the game, a little more in depth, about my battles, strategies and what I plan to advance to higher leagues.

Hola amigos de Hive!
Este es mi primer post tras un buen tiempo, las ideas no habían estado sobre mi cabeza y se me complico más de lo que esperaba lo que sería empezar a crear post para esta genial cadena de bloques.
Sin embargo hace un par de días vi a un amigo jugar a Splinterlands y me pareció bastante interesante y divertido así que me anime a probar.
Mi primer día fue algo frustrante, si algo no me gusta en la vida es sentirme tonto, siendo Splinterlands el primer juego NFT de estrategia que pruebo no logre entender casi nada, todo era confuso y me sentía enojado conmigo mismo. Las cosas se relajaron tras leer un poco en HIVE, sobretodo en esta comunidad donde público, hay bastantes tutoriales de personas que conocen más del tema.
Entiendo que no debería sentirme así de frustrado, pero realmente odio perder y pues al no entender lo haría muy pronto. (Spoiler: Ya entiendo mucho mejor e igual pierdo bastante XD)
Creo que KEYCHAIN es enserio una herramienta genial, permite acceder a todas estas dApps existente en Hive de manera tan sencilla y fluida, he probado otros monederos y este me está gustando mucho por su fluidez.
Antes de empezar a jugar decidí comprar el libro de hechizos, por lo que leí, avanzar sin poseerlo es bastante complicado, una vez comprado me di cuenta la razón de ello. Desbloqueas muchas recompensas y puedes comerciar en el juego, dos cosas imprescindibles para avanzar.
Lo pague a través de algunos HIVE que compre en Binance, el monto con respecto a los HIVE pagados varía de acuerdo al precio mismo en el que se encuentre la criptomoneda HIVE, sin embargo en dólares el monto a pagar está fijado en diez dólares estadounidenses.
Esta fue mi primera batalla, salí con el invocador Kelya Frendul, el cual es curiosamente el que más uso ahora que tengo más experiencia.
Finalmente tras 5 derrotas seguidas donde no entendía ni papa de lo que estaba haciendo por fin logre algo bueno y llego la primera victoria, quedando así plasmado en la blockchain de HIVE la primera victoria de @nane15.
Un poco después de perder muchas batallas y ganar pocas de estas mismas llegue a liga “Bronce III” solo para estamparme con el muro del novato, aquí me quede bastante rato hasta que entendí que debía comprar cartas buenas para aumentar mi poder y avanzar a través de este juego.
Y así fue, tras pensar un poco, y entender más de los NFT compre mi primera carta en Splinterlands la cual lleva por nombre “Molten Ogre” según el Lore podemos ver que es un Ogro de increíble fuerza y con una sed de sangre sin igual, rebelde para ponerse a trabajar, pero cumplido una vez que está en el campo de batalla.
Mi colección de cartas ahora esta así, no es mucho pero dentro de poco serán muchas más y confió que con mucho valor más.
Una carta muy bonita pero con la que no se puede jugar en el modo “Modern Ranked” tras leer un poco más entendí que este modo está limitado a cierto tipo de cartas, al entender esto me dirigí a conseguir algunas buenas cartas para jugar.
Logre armar varias estrategias en base a Djinn Oshannus la cual es hasta el momento mi carta favorita. Me ha llevado hasta Bronce II donde sigo estancado porque necesito más estrategias y un poco más de práctica.
Siempre que elijo a estos muchachos siento que no puedo perder.
Splinterlands es un juego bastante entretenido, a pesar de las limitaciones existentes para los videojuegos en las Blockchains. Este juego de cartas coleccionables logra convertir lo que son tareas normalmente tediosas, leer, investigar y pensar en algo agradable, te anima a mejorar y competir.
Siendo una forma de recrearse sana e incluso productiva con la paciencia, inversión y tiempo suficiente. Esto es lo que en pocos días he podido llegar a concluir. Más tarde elaborare otro post donde hable un poco más de lo que ocurrió en estos días primeros días de juego, un poco más a fondo, sobre mis batallas, estrategias y lo que planeo para avanzar a ligas más altas.
