Service day at work - My Actifit Report Card: December 5 2025

The last day of the week was a service day at work, I'm mostly a installation mechanic, working for a safe company I can't post about my work in too much detail because discretion is the most important thing in my profession, driving with a big van and sometimes a small truck my days are usually filled with installing new safes for customers, both private and retail or move them, inside the same building or to a new location.

Weights vary from 75 kilograms to 2500 kilograms so that's a lot of difference, generally the installation jobs take longer so I have three, maybe four jobs maximum a day depending how much driving I have to do that day.

Service jobs are usually a lot lighter and faster so it's a nice change sometimes, helping customers with everything from empty batteries, changing code combinations or servicing and replacing key or electronic locks.

Today I had seven jobs at six different locations, all taking no longer than half an hour so I could keep a nice pace and before I knew it, the day was over and it was time to go back home and celebrate the weekend.

My favorite store is Decathlon, their stores are only located in or close to the big cities - not close to where I live but having a profession on the road is nice when I want to visit a store, my route ended close to Eindhoven, so I went to the Decathlon store in Best, it's the largest store I know of in my country and easy to reach even with my big van.

I bought a Van Rysel cycling shirt as a in between layer for when it's really cold but I don't think I'll need it this week since the temperatures are a bit higher than last weeks, around 8 to 10 degrees celcius - also with more rain unfortunately.
