I am glad that I did not have high expectations for this latest Season as I took Matt’s word that the ranked play changes will take a couple of Seasons to settle in. I surely experienced that as I could not climb the Champion Division despite a good start of the Season. In fact, I stopped playing Modern with two days left as I was on the border of dropping to Diamond League. I relied on automation for Wild and seems like I will need to do so for a couple of Seasons while things adapt.

I am not sure if it was bad lucks of the draw but I could not get any win streaks going in Modern which hurt me in the middle of the Season. I think many skilled players were pushed up in the ranks which made it tough for us in the middle. I know I am not a bad player but my win ratio was the worst I have experienced in a while.

No comment yet again on the reward cards as I still have not gotten the one single BCX I am eagerly awaiting for to complete a full set of maxed Soulbound cards. I now approach three copies of others include two maxed Gold Foils legendaries of a particular one! I hope it finally arrives before the change in reward chests.

Land continues to be the driver of my SPS accumulation as I continue to expand for resources. I did get a couple of good chests at the end of the Season that helped as well. I have started to keep some SPS liquid as of late as I feel I will soon need to burn some for DEC to support my land expansion.
The first Season under the new changes was not particularly fun for me but I also did not have much time to study the meta as I played. I am willing to give it some time to see how it plays out but I hope that I finally get my missing BCX for a complete set so that the pressure of playing so much tones down. It will be interesting to see how the future changes in rewards goes as well but I am confident that the team will be looking carefully and assessing the thoughts of the community as they always do.
