Splinterlands Art Contest Week 210 | XANDER FOXWOOD FAN ART [ENG-ESP]

Happy Monday, pretty people of Hive. Last week was chaos for me, I diverted my attention from drawing so I couldn't organize material to share with you during those days, but it's another week and I have better energy so I'm back again, today I'll share with you the process of my second entry to the @splinterlands art competition, I hope you enjoy it.

The character I chose to make was XANDER FOXWOOD, a tiny but powerful pixie. Not too long ago I kept a theme of drawing fairies, but I never drew a pixie so I thought it would be cool to make one more to add to the collection of magical winged characters.

Process:

Making the sketch was a bit chaotic plan because I wasn't sure of the pose I wanted to capture, so I made a lot of strokes and guide lines to end up drawing the character with the same pose as the original image... 🤡

Outlining, coloring and shading are the easiest steps of the process and I can easily do them in an hour or maybe an hour and a half.

If you notice I found a color palette that went very well with the theme and tried to employ it.

Coloring the face and adding other details such as the hair highlights and the sword I really enjoyed doing, although in the process I realized some mistakes with the anatomy of the body and corrected them before finishing the illustration (maybe you can't see it because I forgot to save images of the process at the time...).

Figuring out what to draw in the background can take me time most of the time, this was another case, I even thought of starting another drawing half way through because I wasn't 100% sure with this one, but I took a couple of days and when I decided to resume the illustration I managed to figure out what to do to finish it. And that's how I thought of drawing a forest, the branches and foliage would give depth to the drawing, so I thought it would be perfect.

Feliz lunes, gente bonita de Hive. La semana pasada fue un caos para mí, desvié mi atención de los dibujos así que no pude organizar material para compartir con ustedes durante esos días, pero es otra semana y tengo mejores energías así que vuelvo otra vez, el día de hoy les compartiré el proceso de mi segunda entrada a la competencia de arte de @splinterlands, espero que lo disfruten.

El personaje que escogí realizar fue XANDER FOXWOOD, un duendecillo diminuto pero poderoso. Hace no mucho tiempo atrás mantuve una temática de dibujar hadas, pero nunca dibujé un duende así que pensé que sería genial hacer uno más para añadirlo a la colección de personajes mágicos alados.

Proceso:

Realizar el boceto fue un plan un poco caótico porque no estaba muy segura de la pose que quería plasmar, así que hice muchísimos trazos y líneas guías para terminar dibujando al personaje con la misma pose que la imagen original... 🤡

El delineado, coloreado y sombreado son los pasos más fáciles del proceso y puedo hacerlos fácilmente en una hora o quizá hora y media.

Si se fijan encontré una paleta de colores que iba muy bien con la temática y traté de emplearla.

Colorear el rostro y añadir otros detalles como los reflejos del cabello y la espada me gustaron muchísimo de hacer, aunque en el proceso me di cuenta de algunos errores con la anatomía del cuerpo y los corregí antes de dar por culminada la ilustración (quizá no lo vean porque olvidé guardar imágenes del proceso en el momento...).

Averiguar qué dibujar de fondo puede demorarme tiempo en la mayoría de las veces, este fue un caso más, incluso pensé en empezar otro dibujo a mitad de camino porque no estaba 100% segura con este, pero me tomé un par de días y cuando decidí retomar la ilustración logré resolver qué hacer para terminarlo. Y así fue como pensé en dibujar un bosque, las ramas y el follaje le darían profundidad al dibujo, así que pensé que sería perfecto.

Y este fue el resultado final. ¿A ustedes qué les parece? A mí me gustó bastante, a pesar que no me sentía tan confiada de terminarlo... Espero llegar a tiempo para compartir mi entrada al desafío la semana siguiente, hasta luego!😄
