Lurker in the Deep
There is one card that took me by surprise when Chaos Legion was released. It was a water melee card that is so strong it won be games even when I don't know how to use it yet. It gave me opportunity to understand how deep this game is and lurk on different strategies using this one card.
LORE
Terrifying to behold, Deeplurkers are a poisonous fish that dwell at the bottom of the ocean and prey on the weak. However, they are known to travel to the surface in times of dire need. Many believe that they are sensitive to the balance of elemental water magic and, when that balance is in danger, the Deeplurkers rise to attack or defend it.
STATS
Deeplurker has incredible stats. Great health that can act as a tank, great damage, decent speed and decent mana cost. Everything you need in a card is in this one card.
ABILITIES
Level 1 - Level 5 ||
Level 6 - Level 9 ||
Level 10 - Level 10 ||
Opportunity || Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health
Opportunity is like Melee form of Snipe. This can be both good or bad depending on how the game will go. If you put too much damage on the tank, your opportunity creatures will focus on the tanks. A good balance of damage to front and back makes this ability shine.
Poison || Attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied.
Poison is probably one of the best abilities in this game. The reason is when a creature is poisoned, there's only two way it can be removed, if the creature is cleansed, or the creature is dead.
Demoralize || Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by 1.
Demoralize is just a bonus, a cherry on top. It's not really useful on its own but if you use a tank with Shield ability, this may be good as if your opponent has 1 damage, it would be cancelled altogether.
Rent/Buy Cost
This is the rental cost of Deeplurker at the time of writing this article.
As part of Chaos Legion, this is a free to use card if you're not planning to use a high level one. You're not required to rent this as long as you're not planning to use it on higher league.
This is the purchasing cost of Deeplurker at the time of writing this article.
Deeplurker is quite affordable right now and I suggest purchasing one for the future. Right now, it's free to play but if the free cards rotated and you don't have it in your arsenal, I would expect you to find it since it's a really srong card for any occassion.
Positioning
I always place Deeplurker behind the tank but before the mages and ranged cards. He has enough health to act as a tank in case your main guy falls. As a back lane damage, he is quite good as he have high damage along with his amazing ability.
Round 1
Round 1 had a lot of things happened. The opponent's main tank and mine took decent damage. Since there's a blast rule set giving my Deep Lurker one, he instantly killed three back lane opponent by his own. Due to me picking high health cards, my guys survived the initial clash from our creatures.
Round 2
By end of round 2, almost all of my opponent's creature die leaving Silent Sha-Vi, the last positioned monster alive. Game ended next turn on round 3 with my guys inflicting 5 total damage. Just enough to kill Silent Sha-Vi.
These are the Top 3 Rule Sets both for Advantaged Games and Disadvantaged.
Advantageous Rules:
This is the Rule Set that I set my eyes on the most. It gives you blast ability to all your creatures which means my Opportunity card would inflict to more creatures.
A bit of trivia is that on "Fog of War" Rule Set, Opportunity abilities still work. With this new found knowledge, it's obvious why this one is an advantage. You have a working ability while your opponent doesn't.
Reverse Speed is debatable. It makes your 1 and 2 speed creatures the fastest and highest chance of evasion. Deeplurker has a speed of 2 and he's included in this category. I consider this an advantage but not entirely game breaking.
Disadvantageous Rules:
Back to Basics affects both you and your opponent but this also makes your Deeplurker close to useless. There's always a better pick if this creature doesn't have any skills. I don't use deeplurker when I have this Rule Set in place unless I don't have any better picks.
There's no other reason not to play this rather than when you can't. This card is useful in any occassions and if you can't use it, then you can't. There's no other way around it.
Compatibility
This card is most compatible with snipers but I normally use this with an All Melee team. There's a trick against snipers that when you use all melee, they attack your 1st positioned creature. That means all snipers attack the main tank which makes their skills useless.
This is a replay of how I use this card and taking advantage of his great ability.

Final Remarks
If you have any questions, suggested combos, any violent reactions, feel free to comment it down below.
Nice analaysis - I would have thought melee only and Equalizer - otherwise if mosnters have less than 4 health that poison is kind of wasted on them, with opportunity I mean.
It is a great card, certainly one I will be looking to max out!
!PIZZA
Yes, the poison ability unlocks at levels 6-9 so by then, you're around gold or diamond league and thus most creatures/monsters are high health due to levels.
