RE: Bids for Rentals: Overview of PeakMonsters Auto Rentals feature

I agree to this but I hope you make like a first come first serve basis and a auto rental renewal procedure. For example, you can only use the autorental for maximum of 48 hours. After 48 hours without a hit, you need to redo/reset it and if there are someone who made a bid of 10 dec for mylor, let's say, then later someone bid of 8 dec for mylor. Then later a renter set mylor to be rented at 5 dec, then the one who bid the 10 dec, the one who bid first should get it.

The reset for the auto rental is just so that it would be somewhat fair for new players. As we know, this game gives rewards to old players A LOT. An example is the recent pre-sale which, as a new player, I will never ever get an airdrop for that voucher even after 30 days.

So, without the reset system, old players who are familiar with renting in peakmonsters get major advantage and new players are just stuck with renting on the in game and will probably rent higher prices and eventually leaves the game because they cannot get a decent low rent and as we know, again, in bronze, the DEC gain is atrocious. So, it's just one plus one.

As a new player, you get atrocious gain per win in bronze, probably around 5 dec at most, then the rent of mylor, let's say, is 30 dec min per day because all older players are auto renting.

Do you think people would still stay playing this game? I mean, yes, but most of them probably would just leave and this auto renting would deal a significant blow to the player base.

I just hope you consider this situation However I am excited in the upcoming auto rental as well. Just hope there's limits on it or something.

Tagging @peakmonsters for them to see your suggestion.

Thanks for dropping by. I'm glad that you are excited with this new awesome feature!

Here is my own opinion regarding what you said (I'm not part of the PeakMonsters team btw):

I am honestly having a hard time grasping the connection with it becoming a major issue for new players. Wouldn't the solution be is for the new players to learn how to use better alternatives than the in-game market? I personally think that it will actually help new players move from bronze to silver on a cheaper way with the CP Bid feature. The essential part is that they take the time to learn the game and the tools that are readily available.

Regarding the Mylor example, I'm quite sure that you can win in Bronze without renting Mylor. You can even go to Silver III by renting cheap cards. What I am saying is, those cards (e.g. Mylor, etc.) are expensive because they are the famous ones. You can beat that by renting cheaper set of cards as long as you learn new strategies that don't rely on expensive cards.

@mozzie5 what I'm saying is that new players who only knows how to rent in game would have problems because they would be renting only the higher costing cards because that is what is available on the market in game.

However, I had also realized that, in it's core, it's not our problem. If you're going to invest, you ought to do research. That means checking articles, related sites, etc. So, if newbies who don't check or learn about the sites LITERALLY posted in game on the market saying "PEAKMONSTER", then it's out of hand.

It's not our job to spoonfeed the newbies with information and if they really wanted to know more about the game itself, it's one click away.

I honestly am excited to that auto rental and will make an article when it comes out, to help everyone, of course. Again, if newbies won't read my article to know about it, it's not my problem lol.

Also, before I forgot, is it possible to request a feature on that auto rental. I am not sure if it's included or I might have just missed it. An auto rent for any card meaning, no name will be put. For example. If I want to get a cheap gold epic untamed card for 10k power, I can just input that filter and maybe put "any" on the name or something so I could auto rent any card that is epic, gold, untamed.

I definitely agree on this one! It's better that we attract new players who are willing to put in the work, since most of the time they are the ones that will stay and invest for the long run. With all the games that I've played, Splinterlands has the most welcoming and helpful community. So there is really no reason to learn for those who are willing :)

Yes! Asgarth and Jarvie are very receptive to new ideas and requests. You can communicate it directly to them in PeakMonsters discord under the PeakMonsters channel. I believe that the bidding based on specific criteria feature that you mentioned is already on their list :)

It's a BID. Doesn't matter when you put in the Bid it just matters who's highest. Also owners will adjust also DOWN their prices to meet the demands of the bidders. The biggest issue is that owners for all this time didn't really know what their cards should be listed at. We have done lots of things to try to help but there is zero info provided by splinterlands about what they're getting rented for ... all we can see is what they were listed for then that goes away as soon as it's rented.

So now with bids we will have data to know what the value of a card should actually be.
