Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to share something game related that might be obvious to some players, but unknown to others, it can help you get more daily chests and with it, better earnings and maybe that extra gold foil or legendary card you've been waiting for ;)

What is Splinterlands?

So, for people who don't know, Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using blockchain technology. Every card in the game is owned as a NFT and is traded on the Hive blockchain. It's the digital, modern version of Magic: The Gathering with some extra advantages like it's much easier to rent out cards to other players for profit, join tournaments and Guild Brawls.

Cards are available to buy and sell through the ingame marketplace as well as on third-party online marketplaces like Peakmonsters and Monstermarket. Winners can earn real money in the form of Splinterlands own governance token Splinterlands Shards (SPS), making it a lucrative platform for extremely skilled players with the best cards.

With your card set you battle other players, each card has it's own mana value, strengths and abilities and every battle has another mana cap and different rule set, in the higher leagues up to 3 rulesets combined, so if you can wrap your head around the do's and don't in this particular match better than your opponent does, you'll have an advantage already, making it a highly strategic game.

On to the main topic of today:

Every 24 hours, Splinterlands players get a new daily focus, you get extra Reward Points (or RP) for playing and winning with your focus, with more points, you get more chests to open when the 24 hours have passed.
My focus today is the fire splinter, but sometimes you have rulesets you want to use cards that are not available in your fire deck, and when you don't win, you don't get any points at all.
The dragon splinter is a great extra addition for you to use and still earn focus points when you play it together with your focussed splinter.
My battle was a counterspell ruleset with 34 mana to use, the splinters to choose from were fire, life, death and dragon. So I went for Quix the Devious and added the fire splinter to have extra cards to select from, with magic not very likely to be played, Djinn Chwalla with its thorns is a nice tank for this battle.

you can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

So I got a win, and as you can see in the report, I still got some extra focus points for every fire card I played :)
