Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! For this week I wanted to go for a character that was entirely a creature or animal, that is; that was not human, since I wanted to experiment a bit making human characters based on things, animals or others. I found the ✨🐝 Nectar Queen 🐝✨ card and it was simply the one chosen to draw it and participate in this week's art contest.

Para esta semana quise irme por un personaje que fuese en su totalidad una criatura o animal, o sea; que no fuese humano, ya que quería experimentar un poco haciendo personajes humanos a base de cosas, animales o demás. Encontré la carta de ✨🐝 Nectar Queen 🐝✨ y simplemente fue la elegida para dibujarla y participar en el concurso de arte de esta semana.

I started making the sketch taking as references a few images of models that I found on Pinterest, I only took the poses to structure the body of my drawing. It was a little complex for me to structure the necessary pose, since I didn't know how to do the arms and other elements well, but I did them hiding them a little behind the body and only letting you see only one in a perspective that in my mind is fine hahaha. The truth is that it was a headache for me to have a good perspective of the character itself, but the truth is that it wasn't so bad and well, I managed to go ahead with it. After a while, I finally had the general sketch finished, taking the aspects of the original character to put together the composition of the whole drawing itself.

Comencé haciendo el boceto tomando como referencias unas cuantas imágenes de modelos que encontré en Pinterest, solo tome las poses para estructurar el cuerpo de mi dibujo. Fue un poco complejo para mi trabajar estructurar la pose necesario, ya que no sabia como hacer bien los brazos y demás elementos, pero los hice ocultándolos un poco detrás del cuerpo y solo dejando ver solamente uno en una perspectiva que en mi mente esta bien jajaja. La verdad sí fue un dolor de cabeza para mi tener bien una perspectiva del personaje en sí, pero la verdad no quedo tan mal y bueno, se logro seguir adelante con el mismo. Luego de un buen rato, por fin tuve el boceto general terminado, tomando a su vez los aspectos del personaje original para armar la composición de todo el dibujo en sí.

When I had the line art work, what I did after that was to start working on the color, applying all the base color throughout the illustration. I used a light yellow as a base color, a color that I would also use to work on the skin. After that, I add the base colors of each zone of the drawing, and then I start detailing everything. I always use the chromatic circle to do the color work and thus make a good use of the colors and combine them together in a positive way. I must say that I always take as a reference the original drawing, to look at the color palette that it has and thus have a guide as to the colors that I can get to use.

I use as main brushes to detail everything, the watercolor brushes and color mixers, so I can work everything very subtly. As I am working slowly, I am adding color and mixing all the color always seeing if I need more color or not, because the watercolor brushes work in a similar way as if we were really working with the same in traditional, that is, they do not throw or do not paint too much, so you must be adding all the color again and again until you reach the saturation you want, I love to work this way, as it reminds me a lot when I work in traditional.

Comienzo a detallar todo poco a poco, comenzando con el rostro y luego yéndome a las demás partes del dibujo. Uso como pinceles principales para detallar todo, los de acuarelas y mezcladores de color, para así ir trabajando todo muy sutilmente. Como todo lo voy trabajando despacio, voy agregando color y mezclando todo el color siempre viendo si necesito mas color en sí o no, ya que los pinceles de acuarelas funcionan de manera similar como si estuviéramos trabajando realmente con las mismas en tradicional, es decir, no arrojan o no pintan demasiado, así que debes ir agregando todo el color una y otra vez hasta que llegues a la saturación que deseas, a mi me encanta trabajar así, ya que me recuerda mucho cuando trabajo en tradicional.

Como les dije anteriormente,voy agregando color y mezclando, la verdad no tengo gran trabajo en eso. Voy ajustando a su vez los colores con la opción de corrección tonal y cambio los mismos si es necesario. Por ultimo lo que hago es agregar los detalles finales, los cuales son los brillos y trabajo el fondo y listo, eso seria todo.
