What they are most prized for, though, is their ability to telepathically transmit anything they see or hear back to their creators, making them incredibly effective spies. Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I'm in “retaking the traditional” mode and to participate in this week's contest for Splinterlands, I took as inspiration the 🔪🩸 Possessed Puppet 🩸🔪 card, making the drawing totally in traditional with watercolors and wood colors. The truth is that I totally loved the result of this drawing, even though it didn't turn out as I expected, I loved the final result.

Ando en modo "retomando el tradicional" y para participar en el concurso de esta semana para Splinterlands, tome como inspiración la carta de 🔪🩸 Possessed Puppet 🩸🔪, haciendo el dibujo totalmente en tradicional con acuarelas y colores de madera. La verdad que ame totalmente el resultado de este dibujo, a pesar de no haber salido como me lo esperaba, el resultado final del mismo me encanto.

I started making the sketch, taking as a reference the 🔪🩸 Possessed Puppet 🔪 character and one of a girl I saw on Pinterest. I played a bit with some angles of the perspective that the photo had to make my sketch, but in the end I ended up stylizing everything to my liking and making a pose or angle very different from the original, but resulting all very successful to structure the whole character.

Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando como referencia al personaje de 🔪🩸 Possessed Puppet 🩸🔪 y uno de una chica que vi estando en Pinterest. Jugué un poco con algunos ángulos de la perspectiva que tenia la foto para hacer mi boceto, pero al final termine estilizando todo a mi gusto y haciendo una pose o angulo muy distinto al original, pero resultando todo muy acertado para estructurar todo el personaje.

To make my version, I wanted to play a lot with the hair too, making it a little more in movement and not so gathered as in the original character. The only thing that I disliked a little, but I didn't realize it until the end of the drawing with the color already worked and it was the knife that he has in his hand, because in my perspective, it is not so noticeable at first sight, but until you detail the composition and you see that there is a bloody knife, but the rest of the drawing, everything is fine.

Para hacer mi versión, quise jugar mucho con el cabello también, haciéndolo un poco más en movimiento y no tan recogido como en el personaje original. Lo único que si me disgusto un poco, pero no me di cuenta si no hasta el final de haber tenido el dibujo ya con el color trabajado y fue el cuchillo que tiene en su mano, ya que en mi perspectiva, no se nota tanto a simple vista, sino hasta que detallas bien la composición y ves que hay un cuchillo ensangrentado, pero del resto del dibujo, todo bien.

When I had the sketch ready, I went to work on the color and to find a color palette that convinced me, I went to the chromatic circle and put together one that helped me to integrate some colors of the original illustration, but at the same time was harmonious with the colors I chose to my tastes. In the end I chose a triadic, which is the one I always choose to build my color palettes, integrating colors like yellow, blue and red. I started adding the reds for the skin and the clothes, using different tones for each zone, obviously using watercolors to work the base colors of the drawing.

Cuando tuve el boceto listo, me voy a trabajar el color y para buscar una paleta de color que me convenciera, me fui al circulo cromático y arme una que me ayudara a integrar algunos colores de la ilustración original, pero que al mismo tiempo fuera armoniosa con los colores que escogiera a mis gustos. Al final escogí una tríadica, la cual es la que siempre escojo para armar mis paletas de color, integrando colores como amarillo, azul y rojo. Comencé agregando los rojos para la piel y la ropa, usando diferentes tonos para cada zona, evidentemente use acuarelas para trabajar los colores base del dibujo.

But at the end I always add more contrast with the wood colors, since my watercolors are not so pigmented and in order not to do four or five layers for each color, I better do it with wood colors and so I work everything better. I use the same colors that I used with the watercolors, but now with the wood colors and with these, I also do some line art in some areas of the drawing, to define a little more the drawing. I add the last final details and that's it folks, that would be all.

Sigo agregando color como en el cabello, mano y cuchillo. Para las sombras use un azul claro de comienzo y luego pase a agregar uno un poco más oscuro, esto para darle un poco más de contraste. Pero al final siempre agrego más contraste con los colores de madera, ya que mis acuarelas no son tan pigmentadas y para no hacer cuatro o cinco capas para cada color, mejor lo hago con colores de madera y así trabajo todo mejor. Use los mismos colores que use con las acuarelas, pero ahora con los colores de madera y con estos, también hago de cierto modo algunos line art en algunas zonas del dibujo, para para definir un poco más el dibujo. Agrego los últimos detalles finales y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
