Hi, folks, another Battle Mage Secrets, my favorite challenge in @Splinterlands. The rule of the week is Fire & Regret:

RULESET: Fire & Regret
Description:All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage.

The rule seems clear: do not use ranged units, or suffer the consequences!
But some people "pay to see" and put ranged units on the field. That's what we'll see in the two posts I have for you this week.

In this first one, we'll have a Death "mirror" with Thaddius Bood, but very different strategies:

We're going to follow the rule and not use ranged units. We'll invest in magical damage with an even steven combo (another rule of this match) of Skok Duskblight training Will-O-Wisp and Riftwing, Revealer in the backline, Cursed Windeku and Wily Coyotan (because it's GF 😀) in the frontline.
@johnald comes with a larger Cursed Windeku than mine, Arachne Tug with Reach, a Riftwing just to annoy, Venari Bonesmith and, behold: Ravenhood Warden and Supply Runner, two ranged units!😱

activated abilities

The summoners' abilities harmed us more than the opponent, who even shielded himself with +2 Armor from Ravenhood. Will-O-Wisp reduces the opponent's health by 1 point just by being on the field...

round 2

The Snipe from my units took Venari Bonesmith, and we continue strong in the battle...

round 3

There are already 4 lively mages against 2 melee and the blessed supply runner.
I think it's over...

round 4

Supply Runner starts the round with 1 health point...

...and loses its life attacking a Riftwing with 11 Health 😆

round 5

Now it's just a matter of time, Arachne Tug will still miss the attack on the flying Riftwing...

round 6

the round begins and...

Arachne Tug misses another attack and dies stunned by Revealer...

GG

This change to Glint gave me a feeling of poverty. Getting only 45 Glint per match is too little...
Seeing this, I made the decision, following a suggestion from @ykyan to rent some SPS to improve the earnings. Rented 10k SPS via @xbot and there was a good improvement in Glints and SPS, which now only come from matches, right?
The next post will already be with new earnings, come back here to see the difference!

And that was the battle secret of the mage pablito, folks: don't go against the rule, play with it, not against it.
Until next time, where maybe I'll contradict what I told you before...😉

DON'T USE RANGED UNITS ON FIRE & REGRET

RULESET: Fire & Regret
Description:All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage.
