I agree with your strategy, but what about investing in DEC, don't you agree that it's also a good investment?

To be honest, I dislike the idea of investing in pure DEC. DEC is soft-pegged to 0.1 cent, and it's currently being sold for 15x more; it'll end up going back sooner or later. I prefer to use my DEC to buy in-game cards.
