Splinterlands celebra su quinto aniversario, y en medio de la efeméride del gaming web3 el equipo anunció un evento de quema (un concepto bien conocido para cualquiera relacionado en al espacio cripto), que al momento que escribo ya va en marcha, y que está, cuando menos, interesante. Aunque al principio generó ciertas dudas a mi persona hoy aprovecho este espacio para exponer la pregunta "¿esto vale la pena?" y a la vez compartir mi opinión al respecto.

Lo primero a tomar en cuenta de esta Gran Quema (que creo que esta es su traducción más literal del inglés) es lo obvio: la condición en quemar un token, una práctica acostumbrada en el criptoespacio, en este caso el DEC (y/o DEC-B). Quemarlos implicaría sacarlos de circulación y eso siempre será positivo en una economía inflacionaria como la que ronda alrededor del DEC. No obstante, el "chiste" del evento está, por supuesto, en la recompensa.

Es en ese aspecto donde creo que el equipo de Splinterlands lo hizo bien; la forma en la que están distribuidas las posibles recompensas por quemar DEC motiva tanto a ballenas como a los que navegamos por aguas más bajas en este océano. Los top quemadores (ergo, los que quemarán más DEC) recibirán sus lauros especiales y, de igual forma, se percibe mayor posibilidad de rentabilidad (porcentualmente) para los pequeños peces que podrían estar en búsqueda de rasgar algún buen extra.

Desde luego, esto último, lejos de ser una recomendación financiera, debe ser visto más como una pequeña ventana de oportunidad para vislumbrar alguna remuneración (no necesariamente monetaria). Antes de tomar cualquier decisión recomendaría leer además el anuncio oficial de Splinterlands donde están todos los detalles y premios del evento. Por otra parte, como explicaré a continuación, está hecho de tal forma que es un ganar/ganar, sobre todo para quienes forman parte activa de los clanes.

Indudablemente esto es algo que beneficiará el ecosistema de clanes, que de un tiempo para acá está un tanto estancado.

Para mayor información también se puede aclarar dudas con el anuncio oficial del GP. Este será implementado próximamente y para obtenerlo tendremos que pagar DEC en una equivalencia igual a la de este evento. Quiere decir, en pocas palabras, que quemar DEC hoy (y por los próximos 28 días) además de concedernos la oportunidad de tener algún que otro paquetillo (o hasta un plot o Runi), nos concederá también el mismo GP que tendríamos si quemamos DEC cuando el evento termine.

¿Vale la pena?

Con lo expuesto anteriormente creo que la respuesta definitiva sobre si vale la pena o no la Gran Quema, librarse de unos cuantos DEC en los próximos 30 días, sería que sí. Y qué bueno, porque el "gran acontecimiento" anterior (la presentación de la carta dual Zyriel), para sorpresa de nadie, fue un fiasco y hacía falta algo que atrajera un poco la atención de la comunidad. No obstante, si eres de los que no cuenta con mucho DEC (o DEC-B) a su disposición y/o no estás en un clan ni tienes intenciones de estarlo, lo más probable es que termines viéndote en "pérdidas," así que no lo recomendaría, a menos de que te sientas con buena suerte.
